It has been almost a week since Round five of the <strong>Formula E<\/strong> Mexico City E-Prix where both Mahindra drivers retired. Both had unique but separate problems with their cars that prohibited them from finishing the race. It had to be devastating for <strong>Felix Rosenqvist<\/strong> considering he took Super Pole and started the race from the front.<\/p>\n<h1>Is Mahindra&#8217;s Season in Trouble after Mexico City?<\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">What looked like a dream race for <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FRosenqvist?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@FRosenqvist<\/a> turned into despair as he was forced to retire. He later retired on Lap 34. This recent DNF left the Swede twelve points behind championship leader <strong>Jean-Eric Vergne<\/strong>. The water pump failed and Heidfeld was forced to park his car on Lap 27. This issue happened a little after his pit stop. Rosenqvist had a similar issue with his water pump in Free Practice 1, so Mahindra had issues with water pumps in both cars over the course of the weekend. Mahindra have been using a new water pump manufacturer this season and seem to be going through some growing pains.<\/p>\n<p>This was the German\u2019s second DNF in a row and he sits tenth in the Formula E Drivers&#8217; Championship with 21 points. Heidfeld doesn\u2019t have a realistic chance of winning the Drivers&#8217; Championship, but Mahindra are only nine points behind Constructors&#8217; Championship leaders Techeetah. So, all eyes will be on the Mahindra drivers on March 17 in Punta del Este, <strong>Uruguay<\/strong> for round six of the Formula E season.
