It\u2019s been back-to-back action for the NTT IndyCar Series. The drivers hit the streets today for the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix.\u00a0<\/span>A race that was full of overtakes, cautions, and battles, it felt like it could\u2019ve been anyone\u2019s win this afternoon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

King Of The Streets, Kyle Kirkwood Wins Chaotic Detroit Grand Prix<\/strong><\/h2>\n

It was a tight race towards the end. After a red flag, there were only 13 laps left, and all the points were still up for grabs.\u00a0<\/span>It was Kyle Kirkwood,<\/a> however, who found success at the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kirkwood started from P3 and led multiple laps during the race before ultimately winning it all. This is his second race win of the season. Kirkwood is the only other driver to win a race this year aside from Alex Palou.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Behind him, it was a tight battle until the end between Santino Ferrucci and Colton Herta, who finished in second and third, respectively. This is Ferrucci\u2019s career-best IndyCar race finish.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Penalties for McLaughlin and Siegel<\/b><\/h3>\n

The first caution of the race was brought out early on during Lap 14. Felix Rosenqvist spun and went into the tire barrier at turn eight but was able to continue racing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the race restart, Nolan Siegel saw a bit of trouble after spinning on track. He avoided making contact with the wall and was able to rejoin the race at the back of the grid. Siegel spun after Scott McLaughlin touched the back of his car.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

McLaughlin was given a stop-and-go penalty for the incident.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Later on in the race, Siegel was given a stop-and-go penalty for failing to obey.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

An Early End For The Championship Leader\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

On the race restart following the caution that was brought out after Ilott\u2019s accident, another driver went into the wall. This time, it was Championship leader and Indy 500 winner Alex Palou.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
