The Monaco GP should have been a relatively uneventful one for Lewis Hamilton<\/a>, who spent most of the race in a lonely P5.<\/p>\n

After a 3-place grid penalty dropped him to 7th on the grid, Hamilton’s chances of competing with the front-runners were essentially ruined.<\/p>\n

Despite this, the 7-time Champion found himself in a series of awkward team radio exchanges with his race engineer.<\/p>\n

With Hamilton still adapting to his new set-up at Ferrari<\/a>, such miscommunications are not necessarily a massive surprise.<\/p>\n

Still, some of the communication – or lack thereof – between Hamilton and his engineer sparked reaction post-race.<\/p>\n

Vasseur: Hamilton “not upset at all” with team radio<\/h2>\n

Earlier in the season, Lewis Hamilton responded bluntly to some of the media discussions about his team radio messages.<\/p>\n

The 40-year-old argued that disproportionate focus was paid to Ferrari’s communications, at least when compared to other teams.<\/p>\n

He certainly had a point in this respect. For a variety of reasons, the Scuderia consistently face more spotlight than most teams.<\/p>\n

Hamilton’s presence at the team, for better or worse, has only heightened scrutiny on their week-to-week operations.<\/p>\n
