F2 will finish its first doubleheader of 2025 in the street circuits of Jeddah. Here’s what to expect from the Saudi Arabian weekend.<\/p>\n

F2’s Next Stop: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia<\/h2>\n

For the end of the Middle East doubleheader, the 2025 F2 championship<\/a> will land in Saudi Arabia. There, the drivers will race in Jeddah, a street circuit with close walls that leave small margins for any mistake.<\/p>\n

After the second round in Bahrain<\/a>, new balances formed in the Teams’ and Drivers\u2019 standings, with Leonardo Fornaroli who has to defend his leadership in the championship after an impressive performance in the last Feature Race.<\/p>\n

However, the season is still long and even Jeddah could represent another turning point where new drivers could join the fight.<\/p>\n

Looking Back at Last Year’s F2 Race in Jeddah<\/h3>\n

In 2024, Oliver Bearman delivered an outstanding qualifying performance, securing pole position.<\/p>\n

However, the British driver had to withdraw from the F2 weekend to fulfill his duty as a reserve driver for Ferrari. Therefore Kush Main inherited the pole position for the Feature Race.<\/p>\n

Last year he and Jak Crawford<\/a> had a good weekend, collecting points in both races. The American even finished in the top five on both days, even if he missed out on a podium.<\/p>\n

This year Maini and Crawford are racing both for DAMS Lucas Oils and, even if they had a slow start of the year, in Jeddah they could be able to turn things around.<\/p>\n

Last year, the sprint winner was Dennis Hauger and Enzo Fittipaldi, who inherited the win after Richard Verschor was disqualified. Enzo Fittipaldi won the feature race.<\/p>\n

Leonardo Fornaroli to Keep the Momentum Up<\/h3>\n

Even if this will be Fornaroli\u2019s first time racing in Jeddah, he sure will focus on performing at his best and collecting as many points as possible to extend his leadership in F2.<\/p>\n

The driver who sits in second place for now is Alex Dunne, with Luke Browning in third position.<\/p>\n

This standings proves that the competition in the series is very high and the rookie<\/a> drivers are proving to be fierce opponents as much as the more experienced.<\/p>\n

Even more, if we look at the standings. In street circuits, especially in Jeddah, experience usually plays a key role in keeping away from the wall and realizing a good and clean lap.<\/p>\n

However, as this year is starting to prove, being a rookie is not a disadvantage and the drivers can easily adapt to the car and the various circumstances.<\/p>\n

Two Possible Strategies<\/h3>\n

The teams and drivers will have the Supersoft and Medium compounds for this Saudi Arabian weekend.<\/p>\n

They could choose to start the Feature race on the Supersofts, with the quicker warm-up time and the initial grip it offers it might be beneficial for the first part of the race before putting on the mediums.<\/p>\n

This was the strategy used by Fittitpaldi to get his first feature race win in Formula 2.<\/p>\n

However, due to the high temperatures, some teams could choose to start their drivers on the Medium tyres before switching to the soft compounds.<\/p>\n

This will make them the fastest and the end of the race and could represent a big advance, as seen in the sprint Race in Bahrain.<\/p>\n
