On the final day of the 2025 FIA Formula 3 pre-season testing<\/a> at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, drivers faced challenging wet conditions that influenced the day’s proceedings.<\/p>\n

FIA Formula 3 Pre-Season Testing – Day 3 Report<\/h2>\n

Trident’s Rafael C\u00e2mara showed exceptional skill, setting the fastest lap of the morning session at 1:42.570 on Day 3 of F3 pre-season testing.<\/p>\n

As the track dried in the afternoon, Callum Voisin (Rodin Motorsport) emerged as the quickest, recording a 1:39.031<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Morning Session: Wet Conditions Shape Early Running<\/h3>\n

The rain had left the track damp for the start of the morning session, forcing teams to begin their programs on wet-weather tyres. ART Grand Prix<\/a>‘s James Wharton was among the first to set a representative lap time before the session saw multiple changes at the top of the timesheets.<\/p>\n

PREMA<\/a>‘s Brando Badoer and Campos Racing’s Mari Boya made early advances, with Boya recording a 1:46.718 lap. PREMA’s Noel Le\u00f3n briefly held the fastest time at 1:45.934 before Hitech GP’s Martinius Stenshorne edged him out by 0.09 seconds.<\/p>\n

The session experienced interruptions, including a red flag due to Ivan Domingues (Van Amersfoort Racing) stopping on track.<\/p>\n

Once running resumed, lap times continued to improve as the circuit slowly dried. Louis Sharp (Rodin Motorsport) and Trident’s Camara both made significant improvements, with the second setting a benchmark time of 1:45.700.<\/p>\n

Nikola Tsolov surpassed this with 1:43.631, leading the field for a substantial portion of the testing.<\/p>\n

Further interruptions came when Trident<\/a>‘s Charlie Wurz and MP Motorsport’s Bruno del Pino brought out red flags. Despite the disruptions, the final part of the testing saw significant improvements.<\/p>\n

C\u00e2mara eventually ended the morning fastest with a 1:42.570, 0.138s ahead of his teammate Noah Stromsted, ensuring a Trident 1-2.<\/p>\n

Afternoon Session: Voisin Sets the Pace as the Track Dries<\/h3>\n

As the track dried for the afternoon session, teams switched to slick tyres, leading to a flurry of improvements.<\/p>\n

Callum Voisin initially led a Rodin Motorsport 1-2, setting a 1:44-533 to go 0.290s quicker than teammate Roman Bilinski. Noah Stromsted (Trident) soon went even faster, setting a 1:44.178 after half an hour of running.<\/p>\n

The session was disrupted by multiple red flags. The first came when Van Amersfoort Racing’s Th\u00e9ophile Nael stopped on the main straight near the pit exit.<\/p>\n

Later, DAMS driver Christian Ho and Louis Sharp from Rodin both ran off into the gravel at Turn 5 in separate incidents, causing another stoppage.<\/p>\n

A third red flag was triggered when DAMS’ Nicola Lacorte also found himself in the gravel at the same corner. Despite the interruptions, times continued to drop. Sharp briefly led with a 1:44.483, a time matched exactly by C\u00e2mara.<\/p>\n

Sharp then improved further with a 1:43.885, but C\u00e2mara responded to go just 0.026s behind. Another red flag followed when Noel Le\u00f3n from PREMA Racing<\/a> ran off at Turn 5, leading to a short delay before the final push for fast laps.<\/p>\n

In the last 20 minutes, C\u00e2mara put in a 1:41.454, on wet tyres to go fastest. Tim Tramnitz, who was running on hard compound tyres, set a 1:40.887 to take P1.<\/p>\n

But it was Voisin who had the last word, setting a blistering 1:39.031 on hard tyres in the final minutes to end the test fastest overall.<\/p>\n
