Team Penske&#8217;s Austin Cindric will start alongside.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The new relationship between Chase Briscoe and Joe Gibbs Racing is off to a hot start. Briscoe came out swinging during his qualifying laps and put his No. 19 Bass Pro Shops Toyota on the pole for the Great American Race. It appears to be a massive carryover from just last season, as that No. 19 won the final two poles of last season with former driver <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2025\/01\/16\/martin-truex-jr-tricon-garage-team-up-for-daytona-500\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Martin Truex Jr<\/a> behind the wheel. Briscoe captured and took the pole with a lap of 49.249 seconds. As for the driver he shares the front row with, Austin Cindric gives Team Penske a front-row starter for the second-straight season.<\/p>\n<p>Ford was able to have four drivers inside the top 10 in qualifying, including RFK Racing&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/11\/19\/ryan-preece-and-kroger-will-join-rfk-racing-in-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Ryan Preece<\/a>, and defending Cup Series Champion <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/11\/13\/joey-logano-responds-to-critics-of-his-third-cup-championship-win\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Joey Logano<\/a>. JGR also had two other cars in the Top 10 in qualifying as both Christopher Bell and Denny Hamlin advanced to the second round of qualifying. Especially Hendrick Motorsports who won the pole for the Daytona 500 the most in NASCAR history.\u00a0 That seems to have changed significantly, as they failed to put cars on the front row for the second year in a row. The best Chevy drivers in qualifying happened to be Austin Dillon from Richard Childress Racing and his younger brother Ty Dillon from Kaulig Racing.<\/p>\n<p>That may not have been the biggest shocker of the night, as JR Motorsports&#8217; inaugural qualifying effort didn&#8217;t go as planned, as <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2025\/01\/15\/jr-motorsports-justin-allgaier-to-attempt-the-2025-daytona-500\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Justin Allgaier<\/a> lacked the speed to lock himself into the field with his single-car run. So he will have to race his way through the duels. With Briscoe and Cindric both starting first in each of those two races, it&#8217;s time to determine how the rest of the field will line up for Sunday.
