Rodin Motorsport have completed their 2025 F2 lineup, with McLaren Junior driver Alex Dunne stepping up from Formula 3.<\/p>\n
While the first round of the 2025 F2 season is almost one month away, Alex Dunne has been announced as the latest addition to the 2025 F2 grid.<\/span><\/p>\n The Irish driver will debut in the new series with the Aussie team Rodin Motorsport<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In 2021, Dunne debuted in single-seater racing for Pinnacle Motorsport in the Spanish Formula 4 Championship.<\/span><\/p>\n His season started strong, with a podium in the first race, however, after that, he managed to score points only on three occasions among the eight rounds he took part in.<\/span><\/p>\n After Portimao<\/a>, he and the team parted ways and he focused all his efforts on the ADAC Formula 4 Championship.<\/span><\/p>\n In the German series, he raced with US Racing, achieving better results than the ones he got <\/span>with<\/span> his previous partnership. He ended the championship in eighth place, with two P2 finishes<\/span>\u00a0as the\u00a0<\/span>best<\/span> results.<\/span><\/p>\n The following year to took part in four different championships, to test his skills and capability to adapt to various tracks and competitors.<\/span><\/p>\n In 2022 he joined forces with Hitech, with whom he won the Formula 4 British Championship. His results in the series were positively surprising, achieving eleven victories and eleven pole positions.<\/span><\/p>\n His Italian F4 championship campaign was also successful, finishing as vice-champion behind Andrea Kimi Antonelli<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n After a strong year in GB3 in 2023, where he secured second place and achieved more victories than the championship winner Callum Voisin, he transitioned to F3 in 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n However, in the new series with a different team, MP Motorsport, he struggled to achieve the results he had hoped for. Dunne concluded the year in fourteenth place, with two podium finishes.<\/span><\/p>\n READ MORE<\/strong>: The Story of the 2024 Formula 3 Season<\/a><\/p>\n During his F3 season, the Irish driver was announced to be joining the McLaren<\/a> Driver Development Programme.<\/span><\/p>\n A big and important step for Dunne, who not only gave him a new form of support but also new responsibilities. Following the difficult year, McLaren did not lose hope in him and supported him in his next step to Formula 2<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n In doing so, Rodin Motorsport completed their 2025 lineup, having already announced Christian Mansell as part of the team for this year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Dunne spoke about his promotion to F2<\/a>, thanking the ones who supported him during all of these years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “I\u2019m pleased to be able to confirm my plans for the 2025 season, which will see me joining Rodin Motorsport and participating in Formula 2.<\/em><\/p>\n “I\u2019m looking forward to the upcoming season and thankful for everyone\u2019s support in getting me to this stage.
