George Russell<\/a> is optimistic that Valtteri Bottas could provide Mercedes with insights from his experience with Ferrari engines. With Bottas returning to the Silver Arrows as their reserve driver, his input will play a pivotal role in their development.<\/p>\n

Russell eager to work with Bottas<\/h2>\n

In some ways, Valtteri Bottas was the biggest casualty from last year’s driver market.<\/p>\n

The 10-time race winner was linked with various teams throughout the season, but ultimately failed to secure a new deal.<\/p>\n

A combination of factors, including Carlos Sainz’s shock move to Williams<\/a>, denied the Bottas of a 2025 seat. Because of this, the Finn has signed a deal with Mercedes to become their reserve driver.<\/p>\n

Although the 35-year-old is targeting a return to the grid in 2026, his duties over the next twelve months will still be essential.<\/p>\n

Bottas will play a central role to the activities at Mercedes this year, particularly from a development and feedback perspective.<\/p>\n
