Driver and team preparation begins in December with post-season tests and continues until the first race of the 2025 F2 season.<\/span><\/p>\n Among the names on the 2025 F2 grid, there are some familiar faces for fans of the series, alongside newcomers from Formula 3. Both the rookies and the more experienced drivers will compete against each other on track to win the championship at any cost.<\/span><\/p>\n The 2024 Teams’ champions\u00a0have assembled a balanced lineup consisting of a rookie and a driver in his third season. The rookie<\/a> is Leonardo Fornaroli, the 2024 Formula 3 champion. <\/span><\/p>\n The Italian had an impressive season, winning the title thanks to his consistency on the track. In 2024 he remained with Trident, but only until the Monza round. The Czech driver left the team due to unsatisfactory equipment and lack of budget.<\/span><\/p>\n Despite this setback, he managed to secure a new agreement with Invicta for the 2025 season allowing him to remain on the F2 grid for another year in 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n The Spanish team has <\/span>once<\/span> again decided to field an entire Red Bull junior<\/a> lineup.<\/span><\/p>\n Arvid Lindblad will debut in the series at just 17 years old. He is eager to prove his worth after a disappointing end to the 2024 season, where he fell short of competing for the championship in the final rounds.<\/span><\/p>\n Alongside him, Pepe Mart\u00ec aims to reinvent himself after a difficult first season in Formula 2, where he finished in 14th place. The Spaniard is also under the scrutinizing eye of Helmut Marko, who is pushing him to achieve better results.<\/span><\/p>\n Paul Aron and Amaury Cordeel will both be leaving the English team, as Aron focuses on his role as reserve driver for Alpine. For this reason, Hitech has chosen two drivers with <\/span>some<\/span> experience in Formula 2 cars this year: Dino Beganovic and Luke Browning.<\/span><\/p>\n Beganovic has competed in the last two rounds, delivering a solid performance, including a podium finish in the final Sprint Race of the season.<\/span><\/p>\n Meanwhile, Luke Browning replaced Zak O’Sullivan at the ART Grand Prix starting from Baku. The Italian driver, who has alternated between Prema, ART Grand Prix, and Hitech during his single-seater career, has chosen to return to the team where he made his debut in 2020. <\/span><\/p>\n The F2 car is not entirely unfamiliar to him, as he replaced Oliver Bearman in Baku and delivered a remarkable performance, securing a podium in his first weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n His future teammate, Sebastian Montoya, completed his second season in Formula 3 this year. The Indian driver, who won his first F2 race this year, will enter his third season in the series. After an impressive second season in Formula 3, Mansell concluded the year in fifth position. He achieved no victories but secured five podiums. <\/span><\/p>\n Recognizing his growth from the previous year, he was given the opportunity to race in Formula 2 starting in Baku, replacing Roman Stanek at Trident. With three-point finishes in the series, Rodin sees promising potential in him. <\/span><\/p>\n The identity of the other driver in the lineup is still unknown. Nevertheless, many clues seem to point towards Alexander Dunne.<\/span><\/p>\n The Irish driver competed in Formula 3 this year and gained experience in the Macau Grand Prix with Prema, where he finished sixth. <\/span><\/p>\n Additionally, he tested with Rodin in Abu Dhabi. Given the speed he demonstrated in the previous feeder series, it wouldn’t be surprising if he were awarded that second seat.<\/span><\/p>\n Joshua Durksen, after a successful first campaign in Formula 2, has announced that he will continue to race with the German team for the 2025 F2 season. <\/span><\/p>\n The Paraguayan driver had a challenging start to the season. However, thanks to two victories, two podiums, and six additional point finishes, he concluded the season in tenth place.<\/span><\/p>\n Durksen felt more comfortable with the car in the final rounds, which allowed him to compete for top positions.<\/span><\/p>\n During the tests in Abu Dhabi, Durksen was joined by Cian Shields and Nicol\u00e1s Varrone.<\/span><\/p>\n Shields, the runner-up in the 2023 Euroformula Open Championship, competed in Formula 3 this season but did not score any points. He also raced in the final two rounds of Formula 2, coming close to scoring points in the Feature race in Qatar.<\/span><\/p>\n Varrone, who appears to be shifting his focus towards endurance racing, finished the post-season testing session in second place, only 0.72 thousandths behind the leader.<\/span><\/p>\n Since their debut in Formula 2 in 2022, Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) has experienced a challenging<\/span> season. This year they finished last in the overall standings<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n The team’s only victory came in Jeddah, thanks to an impressive performance by Enzo Fittipaldi. However, the Brazilian left the team before the last two rounds to focus on testing for IndyCar<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n He was replaced by John Bennett, the 2024 GB3 runner-up.
