As one chapter of Lewis Hamilton’s extraordinary career comes to a close, another is set to begin.<\/p>\n

With his move to Ferrari in 2025, Hamilton leaves behind a legacy at Mercedes<\/a> that redefined dominance in Formula 1. But before he embarks on this new journey, it\u2019s the perfect time to reflect on the moments that made him a seven-time World Champion.<\/p>\n

For seven weeks, we\u2019ll relive the defining seasons of Hamilton\u2019s career, celebrating his unparalleled achievements and revisiting the path that established him as one of the greatest drivers in history.<\/p>\n

In week one, we explored his breakthrough year in 2008, The Birth of a Champion<\/em><\/a>. In week two, we revisited the dawn of his Mercedes dynasty in 2014, The Dawn of a Dynasty<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, in week three, we take a closer look at 2015, the year Hamilton truly solidified his status at the top of Formula 1.<\/p>\n

2015: A Championship of Perfection<\/h3>\n

When the 2015 Formula 1 season began, Lewis Hamilton<\/a> and Mercedes were already champions in the making.<\/p>\n

The success of 2014 was still fresh in everyone\u2019s minds, but Hamilton wasn\u2019t content just yet. His hunger for more, combined with Mercedes’ continuous improvement, set the stage for an even more dominant campaign.<\/p>\n

With an iconic driver lineup of Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, Mercedes set the 2015 grid alight. They won 16 of 19 races for a second year running.<\/p>\n

For Hamilton, 2015 was a statement season. He defended his championship in style, showcasing his extraordinary skill, resilience, and tactical brilliance.<\/p>\n

For a second consecutive season, he never once finished outside of the points, with his lowest result being a P6, finishing on the podium in every other race. In comparison to his three retirements in 2014, Hamilton had only one retirement in 2015.<\/p>\n

As Hamilton completed his final race for Mercedes at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Pri<\/a>x, we reflect on one of the incredible seasons he shared with the Silver Arrows.<\/p>\n

A Mixed Bag: Dominance, Setbacks, and Comebacks<\/h4>\n

Hamilton started the 2015 season with a comfortable win in Australia. He started the Melbourne race in pole, set the fastest lap and saw the chequered flag first – a near grand slam as he only lost the lead to Rosberg when he went into the pits.<\/p>\n

In Malaysia, the Brit took pole in a wet Q3 session, with Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel<\/a> and Rosberg behind him. However, on race day, Vettel was the fastest man on track.<\/p>\n

After pit stops, Hamilton was unable to close the gap to the Ferrari out front. This allowed Vettel to take his 40th career win, and his first with Ferrari. Hamilton and Rosberg were P2 and P3 respectively.<\/p>\n

Hamilton brought Mercedes their second one-two of the season at the Chinese Grand Prix, where they were able to nullify the Ferrari threat behind them.<\/p>\n

The Bahrain Grand Prix was another fierce battle between Ferrari and Mercedes, but Hamilton held his ground, winning ahead of Kimi Raikkonen and Rosberg.<\/p>\n
