Formula E Season 11 nears, with the first race scheduled for Saturday 7th of December. Could Porsche be the victors of the S\u00e3o Paulo E-Prix<\/a>?<\/p>\n

Porsche in search of first win in Brazil<\/h2>\n

The S\u00e3o Paulo E-Prix made its first appearance in the Formula E calendar during Season 9, and the German team hasn’t yet reached the podium here.<\/p>\n

The winner of the first edition was Mitch Evans from Jaguar.<\/p>\n

Porche, who have raced with the same lineup since Season 9, with Pascal Wehrlein<\/a> and Antonio Felix Da Costa have had two difficult years on the circuit in Brazil. Both drivers have the fourth position as their best result ever at the circuit.<\/p>\n

In 2023, Da Costa finished just under the podium, while Wehrlein obtained seventh place.<\/p>\n

During the Season 10 race earlier this year, the German was P4, whilst his Portuguese teammate finished in sixth. Sam Bird was the winner of the E-Prix.<\/p>\n

Wehrlein came close to conquering the third step of the podium in the Season 10<\/a> S\u00e3o Paulo E-Prix. However, during the final turns of the race, Oliver Rowland<\/a> from Nissan overtook him, relegating the German to a bitter ‘wood medal’ – a common situation in the electric championship.<\/p>\n

Track characteristics<\/h4>\n

Formula E will race on the same layout as the previous years, with the circuit boasting three straights and eleven turns.<\/p>\n

The first corner has been the most delicate point of the lap during the past editions, with many drivers having to avoid it and rejoin the track at Turn 3. Therefore, it will not be surprising to see some incidents during the first lap.<\/p>\n

All eyes on Porsche<\/h4>\n

This year, Porsche are in the spotlight at the S\u00e3o Paulo E-Prix, after Pascal Wehrlein was named Season 10 World Champion. Expectations are high, as many expect the German and his team to carry on with last season’s momentum and perform well.<\/p>\n

Da Costa is also called to start the season on a high, after a troubled 2023\/2024 championship on his side of the garage.<\/p>\n

No one knows the real competitiveness of the various teams. The effect the Gen3 Evo car<\/a> will have on the competition is still yet to be seen. This is because the test in Madrid<\/a> didn’t show the real potential of the cars.<\/p>\n

However, Porsche is expected to fight for the best positions following the latest years’ trend. Jaguar could be a tough rival though.<\/p>\n

The British team are the reigning champions and have already won in Brazil. Not to mention, they need to bounce back after the bitter end of Season 10.<\/p>\n

During the past years, the Porsche have been slower than Jaguar. The gap was more visible in Season 9 than in Season 10, especially in the qualifying rounds.<\/p>\n

Formula E does offer many overtaking opportunities. However, Porsche will still need to find a good starting spot in order to improve their chances of winning the race. A well-performing engine could also help Porsche to conquer the Manufacture World Title.<\/p>\n
