I will not be including Darlington throwbacks in this list, as they were just one off schemes. Any other race’s paint scheme qualifies for the top ten. Since this is tough enough, this is an unranked list, just a general top ten.

#1: Ross Chastain’s Retro Busch Beer Paint Scheme:

Going old school. 🍻@RossChastain | @BuschBeer pic.twitter.com/8hGNYn0SlD

— Trackhouse Racing (@TeamTrackhouse) August 30, 2024

While not a ‘throwback scheme’ but a retro design, Chastain’s Retro Busch scheme was a great looking racecar. Moving away from the modern can design and incorporated the old school red, gold, and dark blues of Busch’s past can design. Moving from Harvick and Stewart Haas to Chastain and Trackhouse, Busch has brought some beautiful race cars to the track in 2024. This beautiful scheme scored a fifth place finish in the Southern 500.

#2 Shane Van Gisbergen’s Weather-Tech Scheme:

Another beautiful Trackhouse scheme, this time the red, white, and blue Weather-Tech scheme driven by Shane Van Gisbergen. SVG made highlight reels in this car, going toe-toe with Chris Buescher at Watkins Glen. This scheme features red foil numbers, a recent allowance by NASCAR, and they look great. A simple yet elegant design, that is why it is on this list.

#3 Kyle Larson’s Hendrick Cars/Arrow McLaren Scheme:

One of the fan favorites of this year, and a race winner. A historic partnership between two titans of motorsport, Hendrick and McLaren, and Kyle Larson running both the Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 in the same day. While Larson never got to drive the Orange, Blue, and White Camaro in the 600, fans would be treated to it at the Brickyard. It would be the Brickyard, where Larson and this special paint scheme would get redemption.

While the Hendrick Cars paint scheme is incredible important to the Hendrick Organization. I believe them allowing this scheme shows the importance of the partnership, and it looks great. The orange while the minority color, stands out against the blue. While I love the 2024 scheme, I am not opposed to a redesign for 2025.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignleft wp-image-29172 size-large" src="https://lastwordonsports.com/motorsports/wp-content/uploads/sites/12/2024/12/GettyImages-2162938412-1024x683.jpg" alt="INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA - JULY 21: Kyle Larson, driver of the #5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet, drives during the NASCAR Cup Series Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 21, 2024 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
