As Red Bull shuffle their driver line-up, Hadjar can expect to race for VCARB next season.<\/p>\n<h2>Red Bull domino effect should help Hadjar to make F1 debut<\/h2>\n<p>For all the importance of speed and raw pace, timing is also an essential part of a driver&#8217;s career.<\/p>\n<p>In the case of Isack Hadjar, it seemed only a few weeks ago that Formula 1 would be just out of reach.<\/p>\n<p>Although <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/10\/22\/isack-hadjar-in-contention-for-2025-vcarb-contract\/\" target=\"_self\">LWOS mentioned Hadjar as a contender to join VCARB<\/a> last month, there were still many obstacles in the Frenchman&#8217;s way.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the biggest was Colapinto&#8217;s emergence, with the Argentine capturing Red Bull&#8217;s interest after his debut.<\/p>\n<p>Luckily for the Campos driver, Christian Horner and Helmut Marko are <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/11\/30\/franco-colapinto-alpine-still-in-negotiations-with-the-argentine\/\" target=\"_self\">no longer in hot pursuit of the Argentine<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"HzlD_SJnTppds28I2Tfi2g\" class=\"gie-single\" style=\"color: #a7a7a7; text-decoration: none; font-weight: normal !important; border: none; display: inline-block;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gettyimages.com\/detail\/2187078190\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Embed from Getty Images<\/a><script>window.gie=window.gie||function(c){(gie.q=gie.q||[]).push(c)};gie(function(){gie.widgets.load({id:'HzlD_SJnTppds28I2Tfi2g',sig:'q3KvfluRCnyEY2JnUTt32Nf8aN_t_Xj67brFuOngH-o=',w:'594px',h:'396px',items:'2187078190',caption: true ,tld:'com',is360: false })});<\/script><script src='\/\/embed-cdn.gettyimages.com\/widgets.js' charset='utf-8' async><\/script><\/p>\n<p>With <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/12\/01\/red-bull-will-let-perez-come-to-his-own-conclusions-about-future\/\" target=\"_self\">Sergio Perez on the verge of being replaced<\/a>, Red Bull have confirmed that either <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/12\/01\/tsunoda-and-lawson-favourites-over-colapinto-to-join-red-bull\/\" target=\"_self\">Tsunoda or Lawson<\/a> will be promoted.<\/p>\n<p>In this scenario, Hadjar&#8217;s path to racing in Formula 1 is clear.<\/p>\n<p>The 20-year-old is currently fighting for the Formula 2 Championship, sitting second in the standings.<\/p>\n<p>With just half a point separating him from <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/11\/27\/gabriel-bortoleto-spending-7-8-hours-a-day-in-the-simulator\/\" target=\"_self\">Gabriel Bortoleto<\/a> &#8211; who will join Sauber in 2025 &#8211; Hadjar&#8217;s campaign has been very impressive.<\/p>\n<p>Speed hasn&#8217;t been a problem for the Frenchmen, who has claimed four feature race wins this season.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside this weekend&#8217;s F2 season finale in Abu Dhabi, Hadjar will also drive in FP1 for Red Bull.<\/p>\n<p>This session will be a good opportunity to cement himself as a logical option for VCARB.<\/p>\n<p>After showing some reluctance to promote young talent in recent years, the Milton Keynes-based outfit are changing their tune.<\/p>\n<p>Sergio Perez&#8217;s increasingly imminent departure should facilitate the promotion of several academy drivers.<\/p>\n<p>For a team who have struggled to replace Daniel Ricciardo since 2018, their aim will be to establish a more consistent baseline moving forward.<\/p>\n<p>Helmut Marko has confirmed that Tsunoda and Lawson are the two front-runners to drive alongside Verstappen in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>In this scenario, VCARB will have a seat ready for Hadjar to fill.<\/p>\n<p>Should Red Bull promote the 20-year-old, he will be the first Red Bull junior since<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/11\/23\/yuki-tsunoda-i-know-what-i-could-do-in-a-red-bull\/\" target=\"_self\"> Yuki Tsunoda<\/a> to go directly from F2 to F1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As Red Bull&#8217;s interest in Franco Colapinto fades, academy driver Isack Hadjar is well placed to join F1 in 2025.
