However, the 4-time World Champion completed an endurance test with Porsche earlier this year. Looking ahead to next year&#8217;s 24 hours of Le Mans, Porsche see Vettel as a candidate for their Hypercar entry,<\/p>\n<h2>Vettel in the mix for 2025 Le Mans Porsche drive<\/h2>\n<p>At various points over the last two years, there have been reports linking Sebastian Vettel to a racing return.<\/p>\n<p>He was even linked to a potential F1 comeback with Audi, although these rumours were little more than speculative.<\/p>\n<p>Still, this does not mean Vettel should be ruled out from competitive racing in the future.<\/p>\n<p>There are options for the 37-year-old in Endurance racing, including next year&#8217;s 24 hours of Le Mans.<\/p>\n<h3>Porsche considering their options<\/h3>\n<p>Urs Kuratle, factory director of Porsche LMDH, has discussed Porsche Penske&#8217;s Hypercar entry for next year&#8217;s Le Mans race:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;We are short of one driver, that is mathematically true,&#8221; <\/em>he told <a href=\"https:\/\/sportscar365.com\/lemans\/wec\/vettel-not-ruled-out-for-porsche-le-mans-drive-in-third-963\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sportscar365.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"kKHXzYFNR8Z2nCkRhaEprQ\" class=\"gie-single\" style=\"color: #a7a7a7; text-decoration: none; font-weight: normal !important; border: none; display: inline-block;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gettyimages.com\/detail\/2181465471\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Embed from Getty Images<\/a><script>window.gie=window.gie||function(c){(gie.q=gie.q||[]).push(c)};gie(function(){gie.widgets.load({id:'kKHXzYFNR8Z2nCkRhaEprQ',sig:'VJF5FA30RcvDavUYJxsPwaJFemr2GFIXUxY-tn5AhSQ=',w:'594px',h:'396px',items:'2181465471',caption: true ,tld:'com',is360: false })});<\/script><script src='\/\/embed-cdn.gettyimages.com\/widgets.js' charset='utf-8' async><\/script><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;We have to think about it, obviously, when we came up with that decision. That\u2019s something we\u2019re evaluating but there\u2019s no name there.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;There\u2019s nothing set yet; it\u2019s not decided, but obviously we have it in our mind.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When asked about the possibility of Sebastian Vettel being Porsche&#8217;s third driver, Kuratle said the following:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I\u2019m not ruling it out. Sebastian and Porsche AG, they have a friendly relationship.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;They talk to each other. I cannot rule it out at the moment, but it\u2019s not set.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>At this stage, there is no guaranteeing that Vettel will compete in next year&#8217;s World Endurance Championship.<\/p>\n<p>There have been very few indications the 37-year-old is seriously considering a full-time return to racing.<\/p>\n<p>However, it would be a stretch to rule him out from competing in events like the 24 hours of Le Mans.<\/p>\n<p>Sebastian Vettel will certainly have several options at his disposal &#8211; whether in WEC or elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>The question is whether his interest and desire to get behind the wheel is still there.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since retiring from Formula 1 at the end of 2022, Sebastian Vettel has not competed in any racing series.
