According to Colapinto&#8217;s management, he is likely to feature on the 2025 grid.<\/p>\n<h2>Multiple teams in the race for Franco Colapinto<\/h2>\n<p>Only a few months ago, Williams faced criticism for choosing <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/11\/03\/franco-colapinto-receives-growing-interest-from-red-bull\/\" target=\"_self\">Franco Colapinto<\/a>\u00a0as Sargeant&#8217;s replacement.<\/p>\n<p>The Argentine&#8217;s junior career, whilst impressive, was deemed by many as insufficient to warrant a mid-season swap.<\/p>\n<p>However, the narrative has changed very quickly. Colapinto is now one of the most sought-after drivers in Formula 1, with even the reigning Champions identifying him as a key target.<\/p>\n<p>On paper, next year&#8217;s grid is already set in stone &#8211; following <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/11\/08\/binotto-reveals-audi-perspective-on-gabriel-bortoleto-contract\/\" target=\"_self\">Sauber&#8217;s Bortoleto announcement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>With that said, teams are showing a willingness to change their plans to accommodate Colapinto.<\/p>\n<h3>Conversations underway about a 2025 F1 seat<\/h3>\n<p>After the 21-year-old was officially announced as Sargeant&#8217;s replacement, Maria Catarineu (Colapinto&#8217;s manager) explained the process of Williams appointing him.<\/p>\n<p>In a similar way, Catarineu has revealed there are many options for Colapinto to land a place on the 2025 grid.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;It&#8217;s clear that a lot of scenarios are being worked on,&#8221; she told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=7FE2SfBy0ec\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Campeones TV<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a id=\"HDnOcXAyQXNA8sx-D0-HLw\" class=\"gie-single\" style=\"color: #a7a7a7; text-decoration: none; font-weight: normal !important; border: none; display: inline-block;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gettyimages.com\/detail\/2182677585\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Embed from Getty Images<\/a><script>window.gie=window.gie||function(c){(gie.q=gie.q||[]).push(c)};gie(function(){gie.widgets.load({id:'HDnOcXAyQXNA8sx-D0-HLw',sig:'InYRxcMW6tBVlPck6ov487pvCNkmxQerfup0c4rj7Mo=',w:'594px',h:'396px',items:'2182677585',caption: true ,tld:'com',is360: false })});<\/script><script src='\/\/embed-cdn.gettyimages.com\/widgets.js' charset='utf-8' async><\/script><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;But what everyone needs to know, is that a lot of places want to see Colapinto in F1 next year.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I think the public deserves it. F1 deserves it, and Williams deserves it as well. Because in the end, they want the best for Franco&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;We arrived in Formula 1 to stay.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When asked to rate Colapinto&#8217;s chances of being in F1 next season from\u00a01 to 10, Catarineu said the following:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Twenty. I think when so many people are putting this level of intention into something happening, it would be fair for it to happen.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Williams in control of negotiations<\/h3>\n<p>Due to the nature of his Williams contract, negotiations could take several weeks before reaching a conclusion.<\/p>\n<p>Williams have every reason to keep ties to Colapinto. Having made the initially unpopular call to promote him, it is only logical they want to reap the rewards.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"YexJKi-DQFFC_AywazyYNQ\" class=\"gie-single\" style=\"color: #a7a7a7; text-decoration: none; font-weight: normal !important; border: none; display: inline-block;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gettyimages.com\/detail\/2182716991\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Embed from Getty Images<\/a><script>window.gie=window.gie||function(c){(gie.q=gie.q||[]).push(c)};gie(function(){gie.widgets.load({id:'YexJKi-DQFFC_AywazyYNQ',sig:'f-ztxH9j5FbrzX1K44LmCpox5Blij9to4RKRww0vWLM=',w:'594px',h:'381px',items:'2182716991',caption: true ,tld:'com',is360: false })});<\/script><script src='\/\/embed-cdn.gettyimages.com\/widgets.js' charset='utf-8' async><\/script><\/p>\n<p>It would be hugely frustrating for <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/10\/23\/james-vowles-reveals-colapinto-chances-at-sauber-and-vcarb\/\" target=\"_self\">James Vowles<\/a> to let such a promising talent sign elsewhere, having just uncovered the 21-year-old&#8217;s potential.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/10\/30\/christian-horner-confirms-red-bull-interest-in-franco-colapinto\/\" target=\"_self\">Christian Horner&#8217;s team<\/a> are pressing to secure the Argentine&#8217;s services, although plenty of areas must be addressed before anything can be agreed to.<\/p>\n<p>Red Bull&#8217;s often unpredictable driver decisions &#8211; most commonly reflected in their second team, VCARB &#8211; make it difficult to pinpoint where they would place Franco Colapinto.<\/p>\n<p>Where the Argentine fits into their plans, in the context of <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/11\/06\/liam-lawson-receives-boost-in-red-bull-contract-hopes\/\" target=\"_self\">Liam Lawson<\/a> and Yuki Tsunoda, could determine whether a deal is possible.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere on the grid, Alpine are very much involved in talks. The French squad believe there is an opportunity to strengthen their driver line-up before the 2026 regulations, which is naturally a priority.<\/p>\n<p>At this stage, Williams are firmly in control of what happens next.
