Multiple rookies will join the grid and some drivers will say their goodbyes. Here are all the drivers confirmed for 2025.<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/11\/01\/the-three-way-battle-for-the-f1-constructors-championship-title\/\" target=\"_self\"> Formula 1 2024 season<\/a> is almost at its end. This year<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019s<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> silly season, as the driver market <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">chaos<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is often referred to, started quite early. Since February 1st, when Ferrari announced Lewis Hamilton as their new driver, many plot twists occurred.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next year is definitely going to be the season of the rookies. New faces will join the F1 grid in 2025, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> some <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">additions<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> more obvious than others. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And yet,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The excitement to see young drivers welcomed in Formula 1 is always present. On the other hand, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">there is also sadness. This is because<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> some experienced drivers will have to leave their current teams, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">while<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> others will say goodbye to the motorsport altogether.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here are all the drivers that we will see next season, at least so far. Because in the world of Formula 1, nothing is always<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0certain.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Red Bull<\/h4>\n<p><em><strong>Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The current World Champions confirmed their pair for the upcoming season.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In May, Red Bull announced that <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.formula1.com\/en\/latest\/article\/from-mighty-comebacks-to-stunning-debut-victories-nine-of-the-greatest-wet.76xmQPYD8I3wtkM8g860rT\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Max Verstappen<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> had renewed the contract with the team until 2028. It was almost obvious that the Dutch driver<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">would<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> continue his career <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">at<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Red Bull. Yet, he has said multiple time times that he doesn&#8217;t think that he&#8217;ll stay in F1 after that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Max Verstappen is currently a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">three times<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">three-time<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> World Champion and this season he may win his fourth championship with Red Bull.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite his underwhelming season, back in June, Red Bull confirmed the Mexican had signed a contract extension keeping him in the team until 2026.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> For this reason, his future is uncertain, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> rumours about his departure from Red Bull and F1 are rising. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And with young talents such as Liam Lawson <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">impressing the grid<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, his permanence in the team is on the line.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Ferrari<\/h4>\n<p><em><strong>Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Charles Leclerc is <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Ferrari<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">shining star<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and he has never failed to express his love for the Scuderia. So, his new contract with the team of Maranello was expected. What almost shocked the Tifosi was the fact that the team didn&#8217;t announce an expiration date.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The announcement just stated that the driver will be with Ferrari for &#8220;several more seasons&#8221;. It is likely that Leclerc has a five<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">year extension with the Cavallino, at least until 2029. This makes him the driver with the longest contract with Ferrari<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0alongside Michael Schumacher.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In February, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/02\/01\/the-legacy-that-lewis-hamilton-will-leave-at-mercedes\/\" target=\"_self\">Lewis Hamilton<\/a> and Scuderia Ferrari announced his switch to the Italian team. Hamilton will have Carlos Sainz&#8217;s seat and all the eyes are on the new teammates in red. In 2023, the Brit signed<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0a two-year deal with Mercedes, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">but unlike Hamilton, Russell has<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">decided to keep his place in the team.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For next season,<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">he<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be paired with Andrea Kimi Antonelli. The<\/span>\u00a018-year-old Italian was on Toto Wolff&#8217;s radar for a long time. After his premature debut in Formula 2 with Prema, Mercedes announced him as their driver for the 2025 season.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">His contract is currently only for the upcoming season, but<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">it is<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> likely <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that he will<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have an extension if his performances will be judged positively.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>McLaren<\/h4>\n<p><strong><em>Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Just like Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc,<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/11\/03\/f1-news-norris-insists-red-bull-were-way-faster-in-brazil\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lando Norris<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> signed a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">multi-years<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">multi-year<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> contract with his team. It&#8217;s understood that Norris had talks with Red Bull, but ultimately decided to stay at McLaren.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In January 2024, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">McLaren announced that <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Norris<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> signed a long<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">term deal with them, at least until 2026. But, the<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">expiration<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> date may be way beyond that season.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2023, Oscar Piastri debuted with McLaren and had a fantastic season for a rookie. Later in that same season, the driver announced that <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">he would keep<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> his seat in the Papaya team for another four years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This means that, at least until 2026, McLaren will keep the Norris-Piastri duo.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Aston Martin<\/h4>\n<p><em><strong>Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Fernando Alonso came to Aston Martin in 2023, after the announcement made during the 2022 season. Originally, his contract kept him in Laurence Stroll&#8217;s team until 2024.<\/p>\n<p>During this season, Aston Martin announced that <em>El Nano<\/em> will drive for them for the 2025 and 2026 seasons, with a partnership that will likely continue after that. The next seasons are going to be really interesting for Aston Martin, especially with the upcoming arrival of Adrian Newey.<\/p>\n<p>In June, his teammate <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/11\/04\/lance-stroll-suspects-brake-failure-caused-brazil-spin\/\" target=\"_self\">Lance Stroll<\/a> also resigned with Aston Martin for 2026, extending his partnership with his father&#8217;s team.<\/p>\n<h4>Alpine<\/h4>\n<p><em><strong>Pierre Gasly and Jack Doohan<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Before the Austrian Grand Prix, Alpine announced that Pierre Gasly will keep driving for them beyond 2025. Since this was a very difficult year for the French team, securing Gasly for the upcoming season was a priority.<\/p>\n<p>The same cannot be said for the other Alpine driver, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/06\/04\/esteban-ocons-career-at-alpine\/\" target=\"_self\">Esteban Ocon<\/a>, who will depart from the team at the end of this season. In his place, there will be Jack Doohan. They signed a contract up until the end of 2025. It then was extended with a multi-year deal that will likely last until the 2026 season.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shortly after announcing that Carlos Sainz would drive alongside Albon in 2025, Franco Colapinto replaced Logan Sargeant mid-season.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Since<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari news<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Sainz played a key role in the driver market. Ultimately, he decided to sign with Williams, joining their project for the next two years, at least.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Sauber<\/h4>\n<p><em><strong>Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>On the 6th of November, Sauber announced the departures of <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/11\/06\/valtteri-bottas-in-talks-for-mercedes-reserve-role\/\" target=\"_self\">Valtteri Bottas<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/11\/06\/guanyu-zhou-the-first-chinese-driver-in-formula-one\/\" target=\"_self\">Zhou Guanyu<\/a>. In their place will be Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nico Hulkenberg came back on the main grid after spending years as <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reserve driver in Formula 1. After joining Haas for two years, Hulkenberg decided to leave the team for Sauber. The team <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is soon to be Audi represents a huge question mark in F1, but it&#8217;s undoubtedly <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a positive opportunity<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">chance<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for Nico who can cover the role of first driver.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sauber said its goodbyes to its previous drivers and then announced<\/span> <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.formula1.com\/en\/latest\/article\/analysis-why-sauber-chose-to-go-with-bortoleto-and-youth-rather-than-bottas.57zoMnsyworVqAJfTN2h0b\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gabriel Bortoleto<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">20-year-old<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will join the team <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">at the end of the season<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0leaving McLaren. T<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">herefore<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Haas will have a new line-up in 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Joining the team will be<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Esteban Ocon, who will leave Alpine. He will reunite with Ayao Komatsu, Haas Team principal, who worked with him in Lotus in 2014. A connection that will help Ocon to perform at his best, for sure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Haas also signed Ferrari prodigy Oliver Bearman. The British driver signed for the 2025 season but <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has already<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> raced for Haas multiple times this year, both during the mandatory rookies&#8217; FP session and as their reserve driver. The last time was just during the<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/11\/03\/brazilian-grand-prix-the-crazy-race-had-a-new-turn-of-events\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">race week in Brazil<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.redbullcontentpool.com\/embed\/photos\/672ce87d731e45a6c14fc34b?mode=light\" width=\"894\" height=\"640\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h4>Racing Bulls<\/h4>\n<p><em><strong>Yuki Tsunoda and&#8230;?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Red Bull&#8217;s second team <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">once again<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> confirmed<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the Japanese <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">driver,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Yuki Tsunoda <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will be driving for them in 2025<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. For the fifth season <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in a row<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Tsunoda will race in the same team, but the identity of his teammate is unknown.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the moment, after Daniel Ricciardo&#8217;s <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sudden<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> retirement, Liam Lawson is <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the second seat. But his presence in Racing Bulls is yet to be confirmed for 2025.
