Setting the stage for DS PENSKE&#8217;s Maximilian Guenther, who in the afternoon achieved the fastest lap of the week so far.<\/h3>\n<h4><strong>Formula E Testing: Morning Session Recap, Jake Hughes on Top Again<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/04\/30\/jake-hughes-frustrated-after-penalty-for-absolutely-nothing\/\" target=\"_self\">Jake Hughes<\/a> had an impressive start to Day 2, leading the morning session with a time of 1:28.604. His performance was particularly notable as he edged out Andretti\u2019s Jake Dennis by just 0.081 seconds. Hughes\u2019s consistency was evident, as his lap time continued to impress throughout the session. This solidifies his position marking him as one to watch as the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/04\/25\/formula-e-gen-3-evo-unveiled-in-monaco\/\" target=\"_self\">GEN3 Evo cars<\/a> evolve this season.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/10\/22\/kiro-race-co-discover-the-bold-new-team-in-formula-e\/\" target=\"_self\">Kiro Racing testing driver Dan Ticktum<\/a> placed third, closely followed by reigning champion <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/09\/17\/pascal-wehrleins-journey-from-f1-to-formula-e-world-champion\/\" target=\"_self\">Pascal Wehrlein<\/a>. Hughes\u2019s teammate, Stoffel Vandoorne, P5, while Sam Bird of NEOM McLaren completed the top six despite a small off-track incident where he briefly found himself in the gravel after trying to avoid a collision on cold tyres.<\/p>\n<p>Jaguar TCS Racing, however, faced challenges after being absent from Day 1 due to a penalty for breaching the cost cap. <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/10\/22\/fe-how-nick-cassidy-became-a-protagonist-of-the-paddock\/\" target=\"_self\">Nick Cassidy<\/a> and Mitch Evans struggled to find their rhythm in the morning session, finishing 18th and 20th, respectively.
