Liam Lawson&#8217;s return, especially in the context of his strong performances, could be the first of many dominos to fall. In a background, a driver who has gone almost completely under the radar is also fighting for a 2025 seat &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/10\/22\/isack-hadjar-in-contention-for-2025-vcarb-contract\/\" target=\"_self\">Isack Hadjar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Young drivers become the priority at Red Bull once again<\/h2>\n<p>Historically, Red Bull are a team that have shown immense confidence in their young talent.<\/p>\n<p>The likes of Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Ricciardo and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/11\/01\/max-verstappen-rant-i-have-the-wrong-passport-for-f1\/\" target=\"_self\">Max Verstappen<\/a> were all promoted within a two years of their debut. In all three cases, Red Bull&#8217;s faith was repaid.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Austrian squad have become far more hesitant to give academy drivers opportunities in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>The decision to keep Liam Lawson on the sidelines for the majority of 2024 (whilst not seeing Tsunoda as a viable replacement for Perez) is evidence of their change in approach.<\/p>\n<p>With that said, Red Bull are again showing signs they are willing to invest in youth.<\/p>\n<p>The arrival of <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/10\/31\/franco-colapinto-critical-of-stewards-penalty-decisions\/\" target=\"_self\">Franco Colapinto<\/a>, who the defending Champions are already showing interest in, could have contributed to this.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"ZFg1LuZfS9dZjOZue-uDYA\" class=\"gie-single\" style=\"color: #a7a7a7; text-decoration: none; font-weight: normal !important; border: none; display: inline-block;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gettyimages.com\/detail\/2160737918\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Embed from Getty Images<\/a><script>window.gie=window.gie||function(c){(gie.q=gie.q||[]).push(c)};gie(function(){gie.widgets.load({id:'ZFg1LuZfS9dZjOZue-uDYA',sig:'yuYGqVfB8WiwoPurrdSUg5ieLmvyKMuTdLBdpH9sH5g=',w:'594px',h:'392px',items:'2160737918',caption: true ,tld:'com',is360: false })});<\/script><script src='\/\/embed-cdn.gettyimages.com\/widgets.js' charset='utf-8' async><\/script><\/p>\n<h3>Helmut Marko reveals faith in Hadjar<\/h3>\n<p>In any case, Isack Hadjar &#8211; currently second in the Formula 2 standings &#8211; is one of the many promising drivers in the Red Bull academy.<\/p>\n<p>As the team formulates their plans for next year, Hadjar is emerging as a legitimate contender for a VCARB seat.<\/p>\n<p>Helmut Marko told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kleinezeitung.at\/sport\/motorsport\/formel1\/19023824\/helmut-marko-ueber-sergio-perez-momentan-evaluieren-wir-alles\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kleine Zeitung<\/a> about some of Red Bull&#8217;s driver plans:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Then there is also a test on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi, where there are a number of drivers who could be considered for next year.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Marko was then specifically asked if Hadjar is ready for F1:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Yes, absolutely. He was faster than Franco Colapinto in all junior categories.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Only a few months ago, LWOS analysed the very real potential for Hadjar to earn a seat for next season.<\/p>\n<p>With Sergio Perez increasingly at risk of losing his seat, the Frenchman could be on the verge of a golden opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>He will be the first in line to join VCARB if either <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/10\/10\/red-bull-to-compare-lawson-and-tsunoda-ahead-of-2025-verdict\/\" target=\"_self\">Tsunoda or Lawson<\/a> are promoted to the team.<\/p>\n<p>Unless Red Bull manage to pull off a blockbuster move for Colapinto (which is a very tall order), Isack Hadjar could become the third Frenchman on the F1 grid.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Red Bull have spent the majority of 2024 evaluating their driver line-up.
