Franco Colapinto<\/a> has made an instant impact since joining Formula 1. Having made Q3, out-qualified Alex Albon and scored points in just his second race weekend, he quickly captured the grid’s attention. Because of this, Colapinto is a new entrant on Sauber’s shortlist for next season<\/a>. Although nothing is set in stone, negotiations are ongoing behind the scenes.<\/p>\n

Within the space of a few months, Williams have significantly strengthened their driver roster. Persuading Carlos Sainz to join the team<\/a> was the first step, securing the services of a highly rated three-time race winner.<\/p>\n

However, arguably the bigger surprise has been the revelation of Franco Colapinto. The 21-year-old is already immensely competitive, performing at a similar level to the far more experienced Alex Albon.<\/p>\n

Considering that two of Colapinto’s first three F1 races were at challenging street circuits (Baku and Singapore) his efforts are particularly noteworthy.<\/p>\n

In light of this, Sauber are considering the Argentine as one of their options for 2025. He joins Gabriel Bortoleto<\/a> and Valtteri Bottas on the Swiss-based team’s extensive list of options.<\/p>\n
