Newey will direct Aston&#8217;s numerous high-profile engineers into the 2026 regulations, as <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/09\/03\/f1-news-adrian-newey-set-to-join-aston-martin\/\" target=\"_self\">Aston Martin<\/a> aim for the top.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Details of Aston Martin&#8217;s technical team under Adrian Newey<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Whilst Adrian Newey is clearly a game-changing acquisition for Aston Martin, he is just one piece of a carefully constructed puzzle.<\/p>\n<p>Team owner Lawrence Stroll has invested heavily in strengthening the team in all areas. Well before the arrival of Aston&#8217;s new infrastructure, Stroll worked diligently to sign the best engineers from across the paddock.<\/p>\n<p>With Aston Martin&#8217;s wind tunnel ready to come online, the team&#8217;s technical department will <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/08\/19\/aston-martin-will-develop-100-of-2026-car-with-new-wind-tunnel\/\" target=\"_self\">use the newest facilities for 2026 development<\/a>. Aston now has several engineers with experience at the highest level across the paddock.<\/p>\n<p>Andy Cowell, who was Managing Director at Mercedes from 2013-20, will become Aston&#8217;s Chief Executive Officer in October.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Enrico Cardile, formerly Ferrari&#8217;s technical director, will take the role of Chief Technical Officer. These signings join Dan Fallows, who arrived at the Silverstone-based outfit from <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2024\/09\/06\/red-bull-could-revert-to-old-specifications-before-bringing-updates\/\" target=\"_self\">Red Bull<\/a> in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>These big-name signings are accompanied by the acquisition of other mid-tier personnel. When he begins working at the team in March 2025, he will be the driving force behind 2026 development.<\/p>\n<p>The 65-year-old is also committed to the team for the long term. The <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/formula1\/articles\/c4gqd8lz9g1o\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BBC<\/a> reports that Newey&#8217;s deal is a 5-year contract, worth up to \u00a330 million per year.<\/p>\n<p>For a variety of reasons, Lawrence Stroll&#8217;s squad has failed to meet expectations this season. Next year is also set to be underwhelming, given that the 2025 cars will be an evolution from this year&#8217;s designs.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, Aston Martin&#8217;s focus will be firmly on the 2026 cars. All the ingredients are falling into place ahead of the next set of regulations. It is now a question of execution.<\/p>\n<p>This does not mean success is guaranteed. Top-quality personnel and infrastructure need to be correctly utilised to achieve victory.
