The British driver set a time of a 1:03.296 in the Super Pole 1 qualifying session to beat <strong>Daniel Abt<\/strong> who was his nearest challenger, who put his\u00a0<strong>Abt Schaeffler Audi Sport\u00a0<\/strong>machine on the front row of the grid, albeit\u00a00.238 seconds slower than Lynn.<\/p>\n<h2>Alex Lynn claims pole in New York on Formula E debut<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Jean Eric Vergne<\/strong> qualified in third place, only three thousandths of a second slower than Abt for<strong> Techeetah<\/strong>. He will start alongside <strong>Sam Bird<\/strong> who qualified in fourth place. By putting his DS Virgin Racing car into fourth on the grid, the team is looking set for a good result in New York, and will be targeting a double podium finish. If both Lynn and Bird manage to do this, it would mark the first double podium finish for the team since<strong> Formula E<\/strong> started in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>While <strong>Sebastien Buemi<\/strong> is absent from the grid in New York to compete in the<strong> World Endurance Championship<\/strong>, this weekend is a perfect chance for<strong> Lucas Di Grassi<\/strong> to close in on his championship rival and revive his title campaign with only four races remaining this season.
