{"id":1646,"date":"2017-06-30T14:18:54","date_gmt":"2017-06-30T18:18:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/?p=1646"},"modified":"2022-06-16T14:43:15","modified_gmt":"2022-06-16T18:43:15","slug":"1646","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2017\/06\/30\/1646\/","title":{"rendered":"Lucas Auer in talks with a number of F1 teams for in-season test"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Austrian <strong>DTM<\/strong> driver<strong> Lucas Auer<\/strong> has revealed that he is in talks with a number of <strong>Formula 1<\/strong> teams for an in-season test that will be held after the <strong>Hungarian Grand Prix<\/strong>,\u00a0\u00a0before F1&#8217;s summer break.<\/p>\n<h2>Lucas Auer in talks with a number of F1 teams for in-season test<\/h2>\n<p>Although<strong> Force India<\/strong> would be the logical choice due to Auer&#8217;s sponsorship with BWT &#8211; a brand that is a primary sponsor on the team&#8217;s VJM10 car &#8211; the driver has revealed that he is in talks with other teams. Speaking to Speed Week, he said:\u00a0&#8220;I am in contact with several other F1 teams. Talks with Force India are already known, but otherwise I will not go into details,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Let&#8217;s leave it at that and focus on the DTM races next weekend.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>22 year old Auer drives for <strong>Mercedes-AMG Motorsport BWT<\/strong>, and currently lies in second place in the Driver&#8217;s Championship, one point behind <strong>Rene Rast<\/strong> after six of the 18 races of the 2017 Season having won two of them.
