{"id":1551,"date":"2017-06-20T08:29:49","date_gmt":"2017-06-20T12:29:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/?p=1551"},"modified":"2017-06-20T08:29:49","modified_gmt":"2017-06-20T12:29:49","slug":"1551","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2017\/06\/20\/1551\/","title":{"rendered":"Robert Kubica to drive at Goodwood Festival of Speed for Renault"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Robert Kubica<\/strong> is set to drive at this year&#8217;s <strong>Goodwood Festival of Speed<\/strong> for <strong>Renault<\/strong> which will be held from June 29th &#8211; July 2nd. Kubica will once again be driving the Lotus E20 of the 2012 Formula 1 Season.<\/p>\n<p>This appearance follows Kubica&#8217;s first outing in a F1 car since 2011 after testing the E20 in a <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonmotorsport.com\/2017\/06\/05\/1486\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">private test<\/a> that was organised by Renault in Valencia earlier in June.<\/p>\n<p>At Goodwood, Kubica will take on the iconic 1.6 mile hill-climb while he gets reacquainted with driving a Formula 1 car after a major rally accident in 2011 ended his career in the sport.<\/p>\n<p>After impressing in his test for Renault which saw him complete 115 laps around the highly demanding <strong>Circuit Ricardo Tormo<\/strong>, Kubica has been linked to a place at the team for 2018 to replace<strong> Jolyon Palmer<\/strong> after the Briton has had a poor showing in performance so far in 2017. This however has been denied by Renault, with team boss\u00a0<strong>Cyril Abiteboul<\/strong> revealing that Kubica is not &#8220;currently on the list&#8221; for a possible seat.
