With two races to go, Eli Tomac<\/strong> and Ryan Dungey<\/strong> are three points apart.<\/p>\n

As the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series<\/strong> visits East Rutherford, NJ this Saturday, all eyes will be on the two championship contenders.<\/p>\n

Eli Tomac, Ryan Dungey three points apart with two races left<\/h2>\n

The Title Contenders<\/h3>\n

Eli Tomac\u00a0<\/strong>currently leads the 450 SX Points standings with a three point cushion over second place.<\/p>\n

The Colorado native is in the midst of one of the most complete seasons supercross has ever seen. He\u00a0visited\u00a0victory lane for the ninth time this season last week in Salt Lake, breaking the tie between him and P2.<\/p>\n

Tomac started the season with three straight non-podium finishes, putting himself in a small hole before he earned back-to-back wins at Phoenix and Oakland.<\/p>\n

He suffered another hiccup in Arlington where he suffered a break line failure, salvaging a 15th place finish.<\/p>\n

Since then, Tomac has been on fire. He has not failed to finish in the top two positions in nine straight races heading into this Saturday.<\/p>\n

Chasing Tomac is the defending series champion, Ryan Dungey,\u00a0who is looking for his third straight championship.<\/p>\n

Tomac’s season has been all about consistency, but Dungey knows a thing or two about being consistent.<\/p>\n

Dungey set the record in 2016 for most consecutive podiums in supercross history, beating out Chad Reed’s<\/strong> previous record of 25.<\/p>\n

Dungey and Tomac will continue the season battle this Saturday when the series heads to MetLife Stadium.<\/p>\n

Live coverage from\u00a0FOX will kick off at 5:00 p.m. ET on Saturday and will be televised live on FOX.<\/p>\n
