But work at the Red Hook Cruise Terminal made it impossible to organize the traditional E-Prix next season. The US is an important host of the championship and it was necessary to find a new circuit for the American E-Prix.<\/p>\n<p>IndyCar&#8217;s circuit in St. Petersburg, Florida was considered a valid option, along with the idea of returning to either Miami or Long Beach. But ultimately, the World Motor Sport Council voted to bring Formula E to Portland, Oregon. Round 12 of Season 9 will be held on June 24th in the Pacific Northwest. With that addition, the 2023 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FIAFormulaE\/status\/1600528841147129859?s=20&amp;t=1z60oSUZQ7wDzIq4wcwOvA\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">calendar<\/a> is now completed. There is a big, passionate fanbase for professional sports in the city, together with strong ecological credentials which makes Portland a perfect host for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. The USA remains an important market for Formula E. We are delighted to maintain that critical presence and engage a new audience in the Pacific Northwest region in all-electric motorsport.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>A Season Full of New Locations<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2022\/11\/20\/formula-e-9-key-changes-for-season-9\/\" target=\"_self\">Season 9 <\/a>will begin in Mexico City on January 14th, followed by the double round in Saudi Arabia on January 27th and 28th. After the first three races, Formula E will compete in India for the first time on February 11th. Next, the series flies to Cape Town on February 25th, another new entry for 2023.<\/p>\n<p>On March 25th the championship resumes after a month off with the brand-new Sao Paolo E-Prix. Then it&#8217;s off to a Berlin doubleheader on April 22nd and 23rd and the iconic Monaco street circuit on May 6th. A debut circuit last season, Jakarta turns into a doubleheader in early June. The season reaches its final stretch first with Portland leading into two races in Rome.
