In comes long-term Formula E driver S\u00e9bastien Buemi. Their partnership gives Envision an experienced duo as they look to get on top of the new Gen3 generation car. Can Buemi rediscover his past form after two difficult seasons with <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2022\/08\/31\/formula-e-driver-lineup-5-more-seats-confirmed-for-season-9-2023\/\" target=\"_self\">Nissan<\/a>?\u00a0<sup id=\"cite_ref-Abt2022_29-0\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Speaking on his move to join Envision, Buemi <a href=\"https:\/\/envision-racing.com\/sebastien-buemi-signs-multi-year-deal-with-envision-racing\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a>,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe new Gen3 era is hugely important for the sport and presents a new challenge, with a faster, lighter and more powerful car. My objective is to fight at the front, so I\u2019m looking forward to start testing and preparing myself ahead of the first race in Mexico City.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Buemi will have big shoes to fill after Robin Frijns lead Envision to a 5th place finish in the Teams&#8217; Championship. Last season Nick Cassidy finished 11th in the Drivers&#8217; Championship including a win in New York City, while Buemi was 15th managing just six finishes in the points.
