Crawford started karting in 2011 and began racing overseas in 2014. In 2020 he signed onto the Red Bull Junior program where he finished runner-up in the ADAC Formula 4 championship.<\/p>\n<h3>2021\/22 Formula 3 season<\/h3>\n<p>In October 2020, Crawford participated in the post-season F3 testing driving for Hitech GP. Later that month he competed in his second F3 test and was confirmed for the 2021 season driving for Hitech GP, driving alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2022\/09\/12\/f2-5-takeaways-from-the-italian-grand-prix-monza\/\" target=\"_self\">Ayuma Iwasa<\/a> and Roman Stanek.<\/p>\n<p>Crawford struggled but was able to salvage the season by scoring points on a consistent basis as well as a podium. After finishing thirteenth in the standings he switched to eventual champions PREMA for the 2022 season, driving alongside<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2022\/08\/19\/why-arthur-leclerc-might-never-be-formula-3-champion\/\" target=\"_self\"> Arthur Leclerc<\/a> and rookie Oliver Bearman.<\/p>\n<p>His second season in F3 went much better, finishing with one win and five podiums. He ended the season with a podium at Monza placing him seventh in the final standings &#8211; just thirty points behind champion <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2022\/09\/12\/f1-5-takeaways-from-the-italian-grand-prix\/\" target=\"_self\">Victor Martins<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>How will Crawford do in Formula 2?<\/h3>\n<p>Although Formula 2 has yet to officially announce Crawford, it remains a mystery as to which team he&#8217;ll drive for. However, seeing his prior connections with Hitech and PREMA it seems likely he&#8217;ll drive for one of those two teams. With PREMA&#8217;s <span class=\"mw-page-title-main\">Jehan Daruvala, who is also a Red Bull Junior Team racer, expecting to move on from F2 after this season that could end up being where Crawford slots in.\u00a0<\/span>Formula 2 drivers are more experienced and cars race at higher speeds.
