Originally replacing Aryton Simmons during the Italian Grand Prix, Schumacher finished P18 and P12 after starting from P29. However, due to his DTM commitments, he was unable to complete the 2022 campaign and was replaced by Lirim Zendali beginning with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2022\/08\/17\/fia-formula-3-2022-season-recap-standings-and-schedule\/\" target=\"_self\">Spanish Grand Prix<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">DTM driver David Schumacher will make his second FIA <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/F3?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#F3<\/a> appearance of 2022 as he returns to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/charouzracing?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@charouzracing<\/a>&#39;s no. #15 car at the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/DutchGP?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#DutchGP<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/HZ1LoYtK0Z\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/t.co\/HZ1LoYtK0Z<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Formula Scout (@FormulaScout) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FormulaScout\/status\/1564935071718588418?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">August 31, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Schumacher started his Formula 3 campaign in 2019, after three years of failing to finish in the Top 10 in the championship, he decided to try his hand at Touring cars and joined Mercedes-AMG Team Winward for their 2022 campaign.<\/p>\n<p>However, due to Charouz driver Christian Mansell taking part in the EuroFormula Open championship, an open seat was available and Schumacher snatched it.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>When asked about his hope for the weekend, Schumacher <a href=\"https:\/\/formulascout.com\/schumacher-returns-to-charouzs-fia-f3-line-up-for-zandvoort\/97997\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">replied<\/a>, \u201dImola has been a difficult weekend but we definitely had the pace, so I\u2019m really positive that we\u2019re gonna have a great potential at Zandvoort too. I know the track from last year and that could be a little advantage, also given that the weather situation could be variable and open different scenarios. I\u2019ll be ready to try my best and catch any eventual opportunity to score points.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Charouz team owner, Antonin Charouz, added \u201cI\u2019m happy to welcome back David to the team, he\u2019s a talented driver and he can surely help us in putting together a good weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/motorsports\/2022\/08\/31\/f3-zandvoort-preview-predictions-and-how-to-watch\/\" target=\"_self\">Zandvoort<\/a> is the penultimate round of the season with Monza happening straight after, it appears hopeful that Schumacher will finish the Formula 3 campaign as Mansell will be racing in Austria on the same weekend as Monza.
