Rives<\/a> is joined by Awful Announcing&#8217;s <a  href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/fangsbites\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ken Fang<\/a> to talk all things involving the big game on the Last Word on Sports Media Podcast.<\/p>\n<h2>Shocking Belichick Snub For Hall of Fame<\/h2>\n<h3>Both T.J. and Ken surprised writers kept former Patriots coach out on first ballot<\/h3>\n<p>The word also leaked Tuesday that former Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, on the Pro Football Hall of Fame ballot for the first time, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/media\/sports-media\/sports-media-reacts-to-belichick-missing-out-on-hall-of-fame\/\" target=\"_self\">was not elected to the class of 2026<\/a>.\u00a0 Both T.J. and Ken expressed surprise if not shock that the coach with more Super Bowl wins and appearances will not be heading to Canton this year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You have to look at his record, and the record is he&#8217;s got to be considered, if not the greatest coach in the top two or three,&#8221; Ken noted. &#8220;Winner of six Super Bowls, coordinator of two for the New York Giants, the master plan to beat the Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXV.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Rumors of voters upset with change in eligibility helping Belichick<\/h3>\n<p>The guys also address the report from Mike Sando of <em>The Athletic<\/em> saying that some voters may have voted against the former New England Patriots coach because the rules for Hall of Fame eligibility for head coaches had been <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7002742\/2026\/01\/27\/bill-belichick-patriots-hall-of-fame-snub\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reduced from five years to one<\/a>.\u00a0 Ken says that he read Sando&#8217;s theory and that it certainly seems &#8220;reasonable.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Sando&#8217;s point I think is very valid,&#8221; he told T.J.\u00a0 &#8220;Thinking that some media members decided, &#8216;Hey I need to get some of these veteran guys in,&#8217; and then &#8216;Oh we left the guy who was the most obvious choice off.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Talking Broadcast Pairings Leading Into Super Bowl<\/h2>\n<p>With both Fox and CBS wrapping up their game coverage for the 2025 NFL season this past week, T.J. and Ken looked at the comparison between the network&#8217;s top color analysts: Fox&#8217;s Tom Brady and CBS&#8217;s Tony Romo.\u00a0 T.J. has been critical of Romo, saying he &#8220;seems so disengaged.&#8221;\u00a0 Ken has not been as critical, but even he thinks that Brady has taken the next step forward.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I will admit that I was not a Tom Brady fan in the first season that he was doing this,&#8221; Ken said.\u00a0 &#8220;But I think he surpassed Romo.
