The Houston Rocket superstar, currently in his 18th season, has turned Boardroom into one of the most respected platforms at the intersection of sports, business, and culture since launching the media network in 2019 alongside longtime business partner and agent Rich Kleiman.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Recent episodes have featured rising stars like Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham, who used the platform to officially announce his major new signature shoe deal with Nike.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As the show\u2019s influence continues to grow, Durant now has his sights set on the ultimate conversation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Durant wants Jordan<\/h2>\n

\u201cHe has so much aura around him,\u201d Durant said of Jordan. \u201cHe can literally say anything and it\u2019s going to sound perfect. That\u2019s just who he is.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Since selling his majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets in 2023, Jordan has gradually re-entered the public basketball conversation in ways fans haven\u2019t seen in years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

His new role as a special contributor for NBC Sports<\/a> \u2013 marking the network\u2019s return to NBA coverage this season \u2013 has given viewers weekly insights from the six-time champion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Paired with Mike Tirico, Jordan has offered candid takes on the modern game, the evolution of player empowerment, load management, and the overall direction of the league.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was during an appearance on <\/span>Up & Adams<\/span><\/i> with Kay Adams on FanDuel Sports Network that Durant laid out exactly why he\u2019s so eager to sit across from the man widely regarded as the greatest of all time.<\/span><\/p>\n

What Durant wants to learn from Jordan<\/h3>\n

\u201cI just want to know what players he watches now,\u201d Durant explained. \u201cLike, who does he actually tune in for? What does he think about the style of play today compared to his era? The difference in training, sports medicine, recovery \u2013 all of it. I have so many questions I could ask Mike. I could go on and on for real.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The admiration runs deeper than basketball philosophy. Durant repeatedly referred to Jordan as \u201cthe GOAT\u201d and \u201cthe perfect basketball player,\u201d but he was equally effusive about Jordan\u2019s off-court blueprint.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the perfect businessman, too,\u201d Durant continued. \u201cHe taught everybody how to be great on the floor, but also how to maximize everything off the floor. He was flawless when it came to the game of basketball \u2013 on and off the court.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Perhaps the most revealing moment came when the topic of golf \u2013 Jordan\u2019s well-documented passion \u2013 entered the conversation. MJ was infamous for playing 36 holes a day during the 1992 Barcelona Olympics with the Dream Team, turning golf into a competitive outlet that bordered on obsession.<\/span><\/p>\n

Durant, who has never been known as a golfer, didn\u2019t hesitate with his response.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll learn how to play golf just to talk to him,\u201d KD said with a laugh, before doubling down: \u201cFor real. Whatever it takes.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The underlying message was serious: there are very few people in the world Kevin Durant would go out of his way to accommodate \u2013 and Michael Jordan is unequivocally one of them.<\/span><\/p>\n
