That\u2019s just who he is.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since selling his majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets in 2023, Jordan has gradually re-entered the public basketball conversation in ways fans haven\u2019t seen in years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">His new role as a special contributor for <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/media\/sports-media\/nbc-flexes-its-first-nba-game-to-spotlight-victor-wembanyama-and-the-surging-san-antonio-spurs\/\" target=\"_self\">NBC Sports<\/a> \u2013 marking the network\u2019s return to NBA coverage this season \u2013 has given viewers weekly insights from the six-time champion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paired with Mike Tirico, Jordan has offered candid takes on the modern game, the evolution of player empowerment, load management, and the overall direction of the league.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was during an appearance on <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Up &amp; Adams<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with Kay Adams on FanDuel Sports Network that Durant laid out exactly why he\u2019s so eager to sit across from the man widely regarded as the greatest of all time.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>What Durant wants to learn from Jordan<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI just want to know what players he watches now,\u201d Durant explained. \u201cLike, who does he actually tune in for? What does he think about the style of play today compared to his era? The difference in training, sports medicine, recovery \u2013 all of it. I have so many questions I could ask Mike. I could go on and on for real.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The admiration runs deeper than basketball philosophy. Durant repeatedly referred to Jordan as \u201cthe GOAT\u201d and \u201cthe perfect basketball player,\u201d but he was equally effusive about Jordan\u2019s off-court blueprint.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThat\u2019s the perfect businessman, too,\u201d Durant continued. \u201cHe taught everybody how to be great on the floor, but also how to maximize everything off the floor. MJ was infamous for playing 36 holes a day during the 1992 Barcelona Olympics with the Dream Team, turning golf into a competitive outlet that bordered on obsession.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Durant, who has never been known as a golfer, didn\u2019t hesitate with his response.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI\u2019ll learn how to play golf just to talk to him,\u201d KD said with a laugh, before doubling down: \u201cFor real.
