Despite playing for a team that has won a combined total of just 23 games over the past two seasons, Angel Reese always finds a way to make it in the headlines.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reese sounds off<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This week, the Chicago Sky forward expressed to Prime Video\u2019s Taylor Rooks, her frustrations with how her comments have been characterized in interviews with the media. Reese<\/a> stated, \u201cEven before the game, I\u2019m terrified of what the media is about to ask. It could be the nicest question, but it\u2019s going to get flipped or put into a different light or a different perspective. It\u2019s like, are you here intentionally to start a mess or are you intentionally here to ask a question?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She added, \u201cIt\u2019s really tough for me, especially in the media. It\u2019s like, I don\u2019t want to do an interview with anybody. I get excited for certain people, like Taylor [Rooks]. Certain people I know I can talk to, but I\u2019ll take the fine.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

While Reese has taken issue with participating in press conferences, she hasn\u2019t had any hesitation with hosting her own podcast, <\/span>Unapologetically Angel<\/span><\/i><\/a>. On her newest episode, Reese told Rooks that she fears doing interviews.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Could Reese shutout the media?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u201cSeriously, I\u2019d rather take the fine sometimes rather than talking to the media because it always gets flipped,\u201d Reese said, adding, \u201cFor me, the media is really scary. That\u2019s why I have never been on anybody else\u2019s podcast. I\u2019m scared to do stuff like that because I know how things could get flipped.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

This year, the Sky finished tied for the worst record in the WNBA at 10-34. Prior to the end of the season, Reese blasted her team, teammates, and the organization in an interview with the Chicago Tribune.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not settling for the same s–t we did this year,” Reese said at the time. “We have to get good players. We have to get great players. That\u2019s a non-negotiable for me. I\u2019m willing and wanting to play with the best. And however I can help to get the best here, that\u2019s what I\u2019m going to do this offseason. So, it\u2019s going to be very, very important this offseason to make sure we attract the best of the best because we can\u2019t settle for what we have this year.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Reese’s suspension<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As a result of Reese\u2019s comments, the Chicago Sky suspended her for a half against the Las Vegas Aces for what the organization called “statements detrimental to the team.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Reese may not like how her comments are perceived in interviews, but the reality is, she has no one to blame but herself for what she says, and refuses to accept responsibility for her actions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
