After being drafted fourth overall by the Ottawa Senators, Brady Tkachuk set a deadline on when he would decide whether or not to sign an entry-level contract. With that deadline approaching, Tkachuk has reportedly informed Boston University head coach Albie O'Connell that he intends to sign his pro contract. It is no surprise to say that the Philadelphia Flyers could use some goaltending help. It is possible that they have that help in the form of Carter Hart. The Buffalo Sabres made a few moves to add depth to their team. They signed Brandon Hickey to a two-year, entry-level contract. Hickey was acquired from Arizona in the Hudson Fasching trade. The team also signed goaltender Scott Wedgewood to a one year deal worth $650K. READ MORE
The Vancouver Canucks announced that top prospect Olli Juolevi will undergo back surgery. The injury was discovered when Juolevi experienced discomfort during off-season training. A timetable for his return would not be provided until after the surgery. READ MORE
After a career year in the Swedish Hockey League, Rasmus Asplund is coming over to North America. The Buffalo Sabres signed the forward to a three-year entry-level contract. Asplund was considered one of the team's top forward prospects. READ MORE
