Shea Weber<\/span><\/a>, one of the most outstanding defencemen in the NHL, hit a career milestone Tuesday night as he played his 1,000th career game. The 6′-4″, 229-pound captain for the <\/span>Montreal Canadiens<\/span>\u00a0has been a cornerstone for the defence since arriving in town.<\/span><\/p>\n

Weber is the fifth defenceman from the 2003 draft to reach the 1,000-game milestone, following <\/span>Ryan Suter<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(1,152),\u00a0<\/span>Brent Burns<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(1,121),\u00a0<\/span>Brent Seabrook<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(1,114), and\u00a0<\/span>Dion Phaneuf<\/span><\/a> (1,048).<\/span><\/p>\n
