The rookie goalie, who helped the team in their Stanley Cup-winning effort last season, proved that he was recovered from the injury that kept him from the first two rounds, stopping 24 shots from the Senators in the Pittsburgh Penguins&#8217; 3-2 win.<\/p>\n<h2>Pittsburgh Penguins Win Eastern Conference Final Game 4<\/h2>\n<p>Defenseman <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/maattol01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Olli Maatta<\/a><\/strong> opened up the scoring for the Penguins in the last minute of the first period off an odd-man rush with assists from <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/c\/crosbsi01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sidney Crosby<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/g\/guentja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jake Guentzel<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0Not long after that, Pittsburgh&#8217;s <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/r\/ruhwech01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chad Ruhwedel<\/a><\/strong> was injured after a bad collision with Ottawa forward <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/r\/ryanbo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bobby Ryan<\/a><\/strong>. He did not return to the game.<\/p>\n<p>A penalty on <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/pageaje01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jean-Gabriel Pageau<\/a><\/strong> in the second period led to a Pittsburgh powerplay goal from Crosby. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/d\/dumoubr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brian Dumoulin<\/a><\/strong> netted his first playoff goal of the season a few minutes later to put the Penguins up 3-0.<\/p>\n<p>Ottawa&#8217;s first goal came from <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/macarcl01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Clarke MacArthur<\/a><\/strong> at the end of the second period, deflecting a shot from Ryan past Murray. The Senators faced some injury scares during the game as well, with <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/c\/cecico01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cody Ceci<\/a><\/strong>,<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/brassde01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Derick Brassard<\/a><\/strong>, and captain <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/k\/karlser01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Erik Karlsson<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0all missing ice time, but returning to the ice to help the team stage a come-back effort.<\/p>\n<p>A late goal by <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/pyattto01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tom Pyatt<\/a><\/strong> put Ottawa within one, but it wasn&#8217;t enough. Despite a strong effort at the end, Ottawa failed to tie up the game.<\/p>\n<p>Pittsburgh, despite missing many players due to injury, as well as losing yet another defenseman with Ruhwedel leaving, was able to recover after a big loss in game three to tie up the series going back home. Coach <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/sullimi01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mike Sullivan<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s decisions to change up all four lines for this game made an impact, especially for Guentzel, who had\u00a0two assists in this game.
