The veteran defenceman, who was claimed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/jets\/\" target=\"_self\">Winnipeg Jets<\/a> last season, has been claimed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/predators\/\" target=\"_self\">Nashville Predators<\/a>. He&#8217;ll look to carve out a role on the team&#8217;s bottom-two pairing in order to secure a full-time role once again. Besides Sbisa, three other players were claimed off waivers &#8212; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/f\/forsban01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Anton Forsberg<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/balceru01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rudolfs Balcers<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/c\/comrier01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eric Comrie<\/a>. Everyone else placed on waivers has cleared, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FriedgeHNIC\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eliotte Friedman<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/FriedgeHNIC\/status\/1349039214713851905<\/p>\n<h2>Luca Sbisa&#8217;s Career So Far<\/h2>\n<p>Luca Sbisa was drafted 19th overall by the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/flyers\/\" target=\"_self\">Philadelphia Flyers<\/a> in 2008. Since then, he&#8217;s played 548 games, amassing 20 goals and 113 points in that timeframe. He&#8217;s played for the Flyers, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/hurricanes\/\" target=\"_self\">Carolina Hurricanes<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/jets\/\" target=\"_self\">Winnipeg Jets<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/ducks\/\" target=\"_self\">Anaheim Ducks<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/islanders\/\" target=\"_self\">New York Islanders<\/a>, and the<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/vegas-golden-knights\/\" target=\"_self\"> Vegas Golden Knights<\/a>.\u00a0 He played an integral role in the Golden Knights&#8217; first season, making it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals.<\/p>\n<p>Last season, Sbisa managed 10 points in 44 games between the Ducks and the Jets. He is currently signed to a one-year, $800,000 contract through the 2021 season.<\/p>\n<h3>Luca Sbisa&#8217;s Role with the Predators<\/h3>\n<p>With a Predators roster made up of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/j\/josiro01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Roman Josi<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/e\/ellisry01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ryan Ellis<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/e\/ekholma01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mattias Ekholm<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/f\/fabbrda01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dante Fabbro<\/a>, Sbisa makes for a solid bottom-pairing or 7D. Barring any further claims off the waivers, he may become a part of the Predators&#8217; taxi squad, as well. Sbisa&#8217;s playoff experience may prove to be a key factor with the Predators this season as they look to make an impact in the Central Division.<\/p>\n<h3>Where the Other Players Are Headed<\/h3>\n<p>Balcers was claimed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/sharks\/\" target=\"_self\">San Jose Sharks.<\/a> The 23-year-old had 17 points in 51 games with the Ottawa Senators last season. He could serve as a strong bottom-six player in his new role. Comrie, who was waived by Winnipeg, will join the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/devils\/\" target=\"_self\">New Jersey Devils<\/a>. Comrie spent last season playing between the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/redwings\/\" target=\"_self\">Detroit Red Wings<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2019\/12\/19\/winnipeg-jets-claimed-eric-comrie-off-waivers\/\" target=\"_self\">and the Jets<\/a>. He will likely join the Devils&#8217; taxi squad behind <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/blackma01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mackenzie Blackwood<\/a> and Kyle Wedgewood. Forsberg will return to the Hurricanes after being waived by the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/oilers\/\" target=\"_self\">Edmonton Oilers<\/a>.
