The deal begins with the 2021-22 season and ends in the 2026-27 season. Edmonton took him in the sixth round, 154th overall of the 2015 NHL Draft. During the 2018-19 season, he was playing collegiate hockey with Harvard University of the ECAC Conference.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over his one-year NHL career, Marino has only played for the Penguins. During his rookie season, he put up<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">six goals and 20 assists for 26 career points in 56 career games. His 26-points season was fourth-best among rookie defenceman, behind <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/h\/hughequ01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Quinn Hughes<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/f\/foxad01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Adam Fox<\/a>, and the Calder Trophy winner, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/makarca01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cale Makar<\/a>.<\/span> Pittsburgh has only seven defencemen to ever achieve 20 assists and 26 points and he is one of them. The young player has proven he is NHL worthy.<\/p>\n<p>Marino has a great defensive play and Pittsburgh can develop his offensive skills as well. He&#8217;s strong, fast, and young, which means he can improve even more. Marino is someone that can be a fixture in the top four of the defence for years to come.<\/p>\n<p>Penguins general manager and executive vice president, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/r\/rutheji01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jim Rutherford<\/a>, seems optimistic about Marino&#8217;s skills and future.
