After beating the Czech Republic 4-1 on <a href=\"http:\/\/stats.iihf.com\/Hydra\/416\/IHM416B04_74_3_0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Friday<\/a>, Canada dismantled Slovenia 7-2 on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/hockey-canada\/mens-worlds\/game\/canada-slovenia-20170507\/Stats\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sunday.<\/a>\u00a0Team Canada has four Colorado Avalanche players\u00a0on their roster, and they&#8217;ve all performed extremely well for Canada over their first two games. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/barrity01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tyson Barrie<\/a><\/strong> scored a goal and picked up an assist on Friday against the Czech Republic and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/pickaca01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Calvin Pickard <\/a><\/strong>allowed one goal on 29 shots to seal the win.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday against Slovenia, Barrie and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/mackina01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nathan MacKinnon<\/a><\/strong> each picked up four points. MacKinnon exploded for a hat trick and an assist, while Barrie picked up a goal and three assists. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/d\/duchema01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Matt Duchene<\/a>,\u00a0<\/strong>who was part of the last two World Championship-winning teams, hasn&#8217;t produced any points.<\/p>\n<h2>Colorado Avalanche Players Shine for Team Canada<\/h2>\n<h3>Hot Start<\/h3>\n<p>Avalanche defenseman Barrie will head into Canada&#8217;s game full of confidence when they take on Belarus on Monday. The 25-year-old accumulated six points in his first two games.<\/p>\n<p>Barrie assisted on former Avalanche\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/o\/oreilry01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ryan O&#8217;Reilly<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s goal in the first period against the Czech Republic\u00a0before picking one up for himself in the third. Barrie turned on the jets against the Slovenians on Sunday, opening up the scoring with a beautiful shot from the point. He then picked up three assists to finish the game. Barrie&#8217;s +5 over his first two games, so he&#8217;ll be hoping to keep up his strong play on Monday against Belarus.<\/p>\n<p>His\u00a0four points on Sunday were also matched by MacKinnon, whose skill was on full display, earning him the player of the game award.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/HC_Men\/status\/861177167865982976<\/p>\n<p>Pickard was a rock in net for the Canadians on Friday, allowing one goal on 29 shots. He earned the player of the game award. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/j\/johnsch02.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chad Johnson<\/a><\/strong> got the start for the Canadians against Slovenia on Sunday, but Pickard will most likely be <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/coaches\/coopejo01c.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jon Cooper<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s go-to guy once the elimination games start.
