On Monday, the Buffalo Sabres<\/a> signed 2020 first-round selection\u00a0Jack Quinn<\/strong> to an entry-level contract. With an average annual value of $925,000, this three-year contract carries him through the 2022-23 season.<\/p>\n

Jack Quinn Signs with Buffalo<\/h2>\n

The Sabres selected Jack Quinn with the eighth overall pick in this year’s NHL Entry Draft. With just two full seasons worth of experience in the OHL, Quinn was not far off from being a point per game player. In 131 games played, he recorded 64 goals and 58 assists for 122 points.<\/p>\n

During this past season, Quinn came off a stellar year. He finished tied for third in points with 89, with 52 goals and 37 assists, along with 32 minutes in penalties. With 52 goals, he actually ended up finishing second across the whole OHL in goals. This made Quinn the fourth player of the past decade to reach 50 goals within their draft year.<\/p>\n

Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams<\/strong> mentioned this after drafting Quinn<\/a>,\u00a0“Jack’s a Sabre, I mean, I just felt like the work that our staff did in preparing was really important to understand his game. You see the ability for him to keep getting better. His athleticism is high. Just a lot of the metrics that we look at when we’re scouting, he met and some. This was just a player that the more work we did, the more excited we got.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Looking toward the Future<\/h3>\n

With that being said, the Sabres general manager is not the only one excited for Quinn. Fans and owners alike were very high on Quinn for his ability to score. He led his junior team in goals by 13. Jack Quinn has a tremendous vision on the ice. While he has no problem finding the back of the net, he is terrific at creating time and space. Not just for himself, but those around him as well.<\/p>\n

All in all, the Buffalo Sabres are continuing to look towards the future. With guys like Rasmus Dahlin,<\/strong> Dylan Cozens\u00a0<\/strong>and Quinn, the Sabres have a ton to look forward to down the road.<\/p>\n
