The NHL <\/span>rumours<\/span> are flying in so fast that we need a second helping. <\/span>We\u2019re <\/span>getting<\/span> closer to the draft <\/span>and the start of free agency this week and things are heating up. Today we have NHL <\/span>rumours<\/span> on <\/span>Taylor Hall<\/a><\/strong>, the Carolina Hurricanes<\/a> and <\/span>Edmonton Oilers.<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rumour: Sportsnet\u2019s Chris Johnston said that the Arizona Coyotes<\/a> forward is entertaining one and two-year deals. This was revealed during Saturday’s Headlines segment<\/a>.
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

Analysis:<\/em> Hall\u2019s main aim is to win a Stanley Cup. He\u2019s played on plenty of losing teams and only been to the playoffs twice. T<\/span>he Hart Trophy winner is seeking a winning-situation and the short-term deals will bring <\/span>more suitors.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The situation is a lot like when the Colorado Avalanche<\/a> signed Teemu <\/strong><\/a><\/span>Selanne<\/strong><\/a> and Paul Kariya<\/a><\/strong> to one-year contracts as they loaded up for a Stanley Cup run in <\/span>2003-04. Colorado is one of the teams in the running to land Hall and <\/span>gear up for a title push. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Avalanche offence would be one of the top units in the league. However, there are plenty of other teams that covet <\/span>Hall\u2019s services. He\u2019ll have no shortage of offers when free agency opens on Friday.<\/span> However, winning seems to be his main priority.<\/span> And the Coyotes intend to attempt to trade Hall’s rights since they paid a pretty penny to acquire him.<\/span><\/p>\n
