Dubinsky will now likely finish with 438 points in 823 games over 13 seasons. He was originally drafted by the<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/rangers\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> New York Rangers<\/a> in the second round of the 2004 NHL Draft.<\/p>\n<p>In 2012 the Rangers sent over Dubinsky along with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/a\/anisiar01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Artem Anisimov<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/e\/erixoti01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Tim Erixon<\/strong><\/a>, and a first-round draft pick in 2013 to Columbus in a blockbuster trade for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/n\/nashri01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Rick Nash<\/strong><\/a>. In his first full season in Columbus, Dubinsky recorded a career-high 50 points. Dubinsky spent time as an assistant captain for the Blue Jackets before losing his letter in the 2017\u201318 season.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-5\">\n<div id=\"monetization-ad-container\">\n<div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #111111; font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; font-size: 22px;\">What This Means for the Future<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Dubinsky has one year remaining on a six-year contract signed with Columbus back in 2014, so he will most likely spend next season on the Blue Jackets&#8217; long term injured reserve before retiring.<\/p>\n<p>The Blue Jackets battled through the losses of Dubinsky,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/panarar01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Artemi Panarin<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/bobrose01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Sergei Bobrovsky<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/d\/duchema01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Matt Duchene<\/strong><\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/d\/dzingry01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Ryan Dzingel<\/strong><\/a> this past season, still earning a playoff spot. Columbus lost in five games to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/lightning\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tampa Bay Lightning<\/a> Wednesday.
