A new addition to the Habs scouting team was announced today and his name is <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/burkese01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sean Burke<\/a><\/strong>. Also Laval has decided on their team name, which was announced today.<\/p>\n<h2>Habs Round-Up: Martin Reway, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/burkese01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sean Burke<\/a> and\u00a0Laval<\/h2>\n<h4>Martin Reway Hospitalized<\/h4>\n<p>On Thursday, Canadiens General Manager <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/bergema01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marc Bergevin<\/a><\/strong> announced that prospect\u00a0<strong>Martin Reway\u00a0<\/strong>will miss one month due to a virus. The 2013 fourth-round selection will miss training camp due to his hospitalization. He is currently being treated in Slovakia, where his team of doctors and Habs head physician <strong>Dr. David Mulder<\/strong> are working closely on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>Expected to push for a spot on the team after signing a three-year entry level contract this off-season, Reway&#8217;s chances have taken a significant detour with this illness. Doctors are currently trying to figure out the extent of the virus.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/CanadiensMTL\/status\/773943287560409088<\/p>\n<p>Reway, 21, has spent the last two seasons playing in Europe, playing for both <strong>Sparta Praha<\/strong> of the Czech League and Swiss\u00a0club\u00a0<strong>Fribourg-Gotteron<\/strong>. Prior to his move overseas, Reway was a dominating force in the <strong>Quebec Major Junior Hockey League<\/strong>, as a member of the <strong>Gatineau Olympiques<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>He also played a huge role in <strong>Slovakia<\/strong>&#8216;s 2015 <strong>World Junior Championship<\/strong> bronze medal finish, scoring nine points in seven games. The team had finished no higher than 8th prior to 2015.<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/burkese01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sean Burke<\/a> Hired as Pro Scout<\/h4>\n<p>The Canadiens also announced the hiring of a new member to their scouting staff, appointing former goaltender\u00a0<strong>Sean Burke\u00a0<\/strong>as the newest Pro Scout to the club.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/CanadiensMTL\/status\/773913996630056960<\/p>\n<p>Burke, 49, had spent six seasons with the <strong>Phoenix\/Arizona Coyotes<\/strong>, serving\u00a0as a goaltending coach, director of player development and assistant general manager. He is expected to handle the scouting of the western region, according to the Canadiens press release.<\/p>\n<p>The Windsor native debuted in the\u00a0<strong>National Hockey League\u00a0<\/strong>in 1988, drafted by the <strong>New Jersey Devils<\/strong> in the second round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. Burke would play in 820 career games, between nine different teams, in 19 seasons. Posting a 324-341-101-9 record, Burke was also a three-time all-star (1989, 2001, 2002).<\/p>\n<h4>Le Rocket de Laval<\/h4>\n<p>Finally, the Canadiens AHL Affiliate team, which is headed to Laval for the 2017-18 season, has decided on their team name. In a fan vote that consisted of 850 possibilities, <strong>Le Rocket<\/strong> received 51% of the final votes, beating out <strong>Rapides<\/strong> (25 per cent) and <strong>Patriotes<\/strong> (24 per cent). The official tally was over 54,000 votes.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/CanadiensMTL\/status\/773930649472368640<\/p>\n<p>The focus now shifts to the team&#8217;s color scheme and logo. The reveal is expected\u00a0sometime in the next few months.<\/p>\n<p>Head Coach\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/l\/lefebsy01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sylvain Lefebvre<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and his team will close out their run in <strong>St. John<\/strong>&#8216;s next season before moving over to Laval. The team currently known as the <strong>IceCaps<\/strong> were situated in Newfoundland for the last five seasons. Their best season came in 2013-14 when they lost in the AHL Finals.
