We have, and did a collection of some for the 2019-20 season. Now, we are continuing that with the NHL qualifying series which began recently. We are collecting some photos with humorous captions added to entertain you during this postseason play. Today we cover the Vancouver Canucks vs the Minnesota Wild comic captions for the 2019-20 postseason.

Vancouver Canucks vs Minnesota Wild

Vancouver Canucks Eliminate Minnesota Wild in NHL Qualifying Series

It took four games and the Vancouver Canucks will be moving on to play the Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues in the first round of the playoffs. Riding the excellent goaltending offered by Jacob Markstrom, the Canucks have their work cut out for them. Even though the Blues didn’t gain the top Western Conference seeding, they are still a formidable opponent. Markstrom paced the Canucks with a 3-1 record and a .926 save percentage, adding a 2.27 goals-against-average. He also had one shutout.

Rookie phenom, Quinn Hughes tallied six points with one goal to fuel the offence. The Canucks special teams units did well. Their power play registered with a 21.1 percent success rate and the penalty kill was great too with a 86.4 percent kill rate. Even though this is a young team, Vancouver’s maturity in this series helped them advance.

Whether they will luck out against a faltering Blues’ squad is yet to be determined. They have the guns to do it. This was a step in the right direction for Vancouver, now they need to build upon it.

Here is the Vancouver Canucks NHL qualifying series comic caption.

EDMONTON, ALBERTA – AUGUST 06: Tyler Myers #57 of the Vancouver Canucks shoves Brad Hunt #77 of the Minnesota Wild to the ice in the third period in Game Three of the Western Conference Qualification Round prior to the 2020 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at Rogers Place on August 06, 2020 in Edmonton, Alberta. They had Kevin Fiala with three goals and one assist. Then, Eric Staal had one goal and four assists. The key could have been the goaltending. When Devan Dubnyk crashed and burned, the net belonged to Alex Stalock. He accumulated a 1-3 record with a .897 save percentage and a 3.03 goals-against-average. Not good enough in a five-game series.

The Wild had a poor power play in this series with just a 13.6 success percentage. Add in the below-par goaltending and you have a recipe for failure. Will they need to trade Dubnyk who is 33 years old? They wouldn’t get much for him and don’t forget his $4.33 million AAV salary will prevent Minnesota from unloading him.

The Wild have a lot of soul searching to do. Re-signing Alex Galchenyuk may not be a good step going forward. He had goose-eggs in this series and for $4.9 million AAV, that’s not a good return on your investment. Deciding what to do with both Dubnyk and Galchenyuk may define the future of the Wild hockey club.

Here is the Minnesota Wild NHL qualifying series comic caption.

EDMONTON, ALBERTA – AUGUST 06: Marcus Foligno #17 of the Minnesota Wild lies on the ice as Elias Pettersson #40 of the Vancouver Canucks reacts to getting called for interference in the second period in Game Three of the Western Conference Qualification Round prior to the 2020 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at Rogers Place on August 06, 2020 in Edmonton, Alberta.
