Igor Eronko of Sports Express first speculated that Goldobin would be heading back to Russia.

Him going to back to the KHL isn’t the end of Goldobin being in the NHL. He did tell Rick Dhaliwal of TSN 1040 that he would love to return to North America at the end of his contract.

It makes sense for him to head over to Russia to try to get some more playing time. CSKA are one of the more high-profile teams and he should get plenty of chances to improve his situation when he becomes a free agent.

Embed from Getty Images

KHL club CSKA Moscow has signed free agent forward Nikolay Goldobin to a two-year contract.
