We will do a series called NHL Comic Captions by team collecting some photos with humorous captions to entertain you during this suspension in play… and perhaps cheer you up a bit. Today we cover the Carolina Hurricanes comic captions for the 2019-20 season.

Carolina Hurricanes Comic Captions for 2019-20

Jordan Staal

Jordan Staal, 31, stands 6-foot-4, 220 pounds and was the Pittsburgh Penguins second overall selection in the 2006 draft. While not a flashy player, he gets the job done. He has accumulated 537 points in his 13-year NHL career. Over that span, he has tallied 225 goals and 312 assists for 537 points. He is an excellent possession player with a career 54.1 Corsi-For and a +2.5 Relative Corsi.

This season has shown a decline in his production with him only showing eight goals and 19 assists in 68 games. That is his lowest stats since the 2007-08 season. He is the leader of the team and as captain shows that leadership constantly.

The leader of the “Jerks” will be there leading his forces against the New York Rangers in the play-in series that has been projected to happen if play resumes soon. It should be a good one.

Here’s our Carolina Hurricanes comic caption for Jordan Staal.

COLUMBUS, OH – JANUARY 16: Jordan Staal #11 of the Carolina Hurricanes reacts after beating Elvis Merzlikins #90 of the Columbus Blue Jackets for a goal during the third period on January 16, 2020 at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. In 68 games he has 24 goals and 37 assists for 61 points. What does this mean for the young 20-year-old? He deserves a good raise from his $925,000 contract, and like every team, the Hurricanes will have some challenges with the salary cap, especially if it remains at the current $81.5 million level.

Svechnikov was the ‘Canes second overall pick in the 2018 draft and seems to be improving with age. On the power-play unit this season he had six goals and assisted on 14 others. His possession stats are great for a young player, showing a 56.4 Corsi For and a 2.4 Relative Corsi over his first two seasons. In other words, he’s a keeper. The team needs to see their way to re-signing him and it is a no-brainer to do so.

Here’s our Carolina Hurricanes comic caption for Andrei Svechnikov.

UNIONDALE, NEW YORK – MARCH 07: Andrei Svechnikov #37 of the Carolina Hurricanes and Ryan Pulock #6 of the New York Islanders battle along the boards during the first period at NYCB Live’s Nassau Coliseum on March 07, 2020 in Uniondale, New York. The Montreal Canadiens recognized that as they signed him to an offer sheet last July. The ‘Canes of course, also recognize his talent and matched it. Mr. Aho got a five-year, $42.27 million deal. Keep in mind he will be just 23-years-old next month.

Over this season Aho displayed his worth by gathering 38 goals and 28 assists in 68 games. Now that’s production. He’s an accurate shooter with an 18.4 percent rate. In other words, get the guy the puck and you have a pretty good shot at scoring.

He is another well over-average possession player with a 55.7 Corsi-For and a +2.7 Relative Corsi over the four seasons in Carolina. With a player of his calibre averaging about a point a game the Hurricanes have two promising young forwards in him and Svechnikov. Now, if a team signs Svechnikov to an offer sheet, as what happened to Aho, things could get interesting.

Here’s our Carolina Hurricanes comic captions for Sebastian Aho.

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS – DECEMBER 03: Sebastian Aho #20 of the Carolina Hurricanes defends Torey Krug #47 of the Boston Bruins during the first period at TD Garden on December 03, 2019 in Boston, Massachusetts.
