We\u2019ll remember the moments that shaped the sport of hockey that happened on this day. Here\u2019s our look at this date in hockey history for May 28th, featuring Justin Williams<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Today in Hockey History<\/h2>\n

Justin Williams<\/a> Wins Fourth Career Game 7<\/h3>\n

2013:<\/strong> The Los Angeles Kings<\/a> forward scores both goals as they beat the San Jose Sharks<\/a>, 2-1. Williams nets both goals in a span of 2:57 in the second period. The win helps the Kings beat the Sharks four games to three in Western semifinals.<\/p>\n

Williams is the first player in league history to score at least a goal in his first four Game 7s. Jonathan Quick<\/a> <\/strong>makes 25 saves to get the win in net for Los Angeles. Dan Boyle<\/a><\/strong> scores a third-period goal for San Jose.<\/p>\n

Other Notable Events<\/h3>\n

1974: The Buffalo Sabres<\/a> select Taro Tsujimoto<\/strong> in the 11th round, 183rd overall of the NHL Draft. Tsujimoto is a fictional player as a way to have fun with the league.<\/p>\n

1981: Jean Ratelle<\/a><\/strong> retires from the NHL. He scores 491 goals in his career with the New York Rangers<\/a> and Boston Bruins<\/a>.<\/p>\n

1992: Mario Lemieux<\/a><\/strong> scores twice as the Pittsburgh Penguins<\/a> beat the Chicago Blackhawks<\/a>, 3-1. His goals help Pittsburgh win Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final.<\/p>\n

1999: Chris Drury<\/a><\/strong> scores with 31 seconds left in the first overtime as the Colorado Avalanche <\/a>top the Dallas Stars,<\/a> 3-2. Drury helps Colorado even the Western Conference Final at two games apiece.<\/p>\n

2007:<\/strong> The Anaheim Ducks<\/a> win Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final over the Ottawa Senators<\/a>, 3-2.<\/p>\n

2008:<\/strong> Pittsburgh fends of the Detroit Red Wings<\/a> with a 3-2 Game 3 win in the Final. Sidney Crosby<\/a><\/strong> scores twice for the Penguins while Dallas Drake<\/a><\/strong> gets a pair for the Wings.<\/p>\n

2014: Patrick Kane<\/a><\/strong>‘s four assists lead Chicago to a 5-4 Game 5 win over Los Angeles. Kane is the second player since 1999 to get four assists. Henrik Sedin<\/a><\/strong> did the same in Game 4 of the 2011 Western Finak.<\/p>\n

2018: Tomas Nosek<\/a><\/strong> scores twice as the Vegas Golden Knights<\/a> beat the Washington Capitals<\/a> in Game 1 of the Final. Nosek breaks a 4-4 tie and adds a late empty-netter to give the Knights a 6-4 win.<\/p>\n
