We\u2019ll <\/span>remember the moments that shaped the sport of hockey that happened on this day. Here\u2019s our look at this date in hockey history for April 27th, featuring Dominik Hasek<\/a><\/strong>.

Today in Hockey History<\/h2>\n

Dominik Hasek<\/a> Stops 70 Shots<\/h3>\n

1994:<\/strong> The Buffalo Sabres<\/a> goalie outduels New Jersey Devils<\/a> netminder Martin Brodeur<\/a><\/strong> in Game 6 of the first round. Hasek makes 31 saves in regulation, but adds another 39 as the Sabres win in the fourth overtime.<\/p>\n

Dave Hannan<\/a><\/strong> ends the game 5:43 into the fourth OT to force a Game 7. New Jersey would come away with the series win and advance to the Eastern Conference final. The Devils would fall to the eventual Stanley Cup champion New York Rangers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Other Notable Events<\/h3>\n

1971:<\/strong> Montreal Canadiens<\/a> great Jean Beliveau<\/a><\/strong> sets the post-season record for assists with 92. Beliveau would break Gordie Howe<\/a><\/strong>‘s mark in a 6-1 Game 5 win over the Minnesota North Stars<\/a>.<\/p>\n

1992:<\/strong> Pittsburgh Penguins<\/a> coach Scotty Bowman<\/strong> sets the mark for most playoff games coached. Bowman coaches in his 191st game to break Dick Irvin<\/a><\/strong>‘s record. He would end up coaching in 353 playoff games.<\/p>\n

1998:<\/strong> The St. Louis Blues<\/a> net a record four power-play goals in 3:07 to beat the Los Angeles Kings<\/a>, 4-3. St. Louis takes advantage of a major penalty incurred by Sean O’Donnell<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

2002: Kevin Weekes<\/a><\/strong> stops 32 shots as the Carolina Hurricanes<\/a> get their first post-season shutout in franchise history. Ron Francis<\/a><\/strong> scores to give the Canes a 1-0 win over New Jersey.<\/p>\n

2011: Mark Recchi<\/a><\/strong> is the oldest player to score in a Game 7 as the Boston Bruins<\/a> beat Montreal, 4-3, in OT. Recchi is 43 years old and helps the Bruins advance to the Eastern semis.<\/p>\n

2012: Ray Whitney<\/a><\/strong> is the second-oldest player to score an OT goal in the playoffs. Whitney’s goal leads the Arizona Coyotes<\/a> to a 4-3 win over the Nashville Predators<\/a>. He gives the Coyotes Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals.<\/p>\n

2016:<\/strong> The Anaheim Ducks<\/a> lose their fourth Game 7 at home in four years. Goals by Colin Wilson<\/a> <\/strong>and Paul Gaustad<\/a><\/strong>, along with 36 saves by Pekka Rinne<\/a><\/strong> help Nashville take the first round series, 2-1.<\/p>\n
