Here\u2019s our look at this date in hockey history for April 20th, featuring <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/belivje01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jean Beliveau<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Today in Hockey History<\/h2>\n<h3>Jean Beliveau Scores Only Post-Season Hat Trick<\/h3>\n<p><strong>1968:<\/strong> The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/canadiens\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Montreal Canadiens<\/a> legend scores three goals in the a 4-1 victory over the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/blackhawks\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chicago Blackhawks<\/a> in Game 2 of the semifinals. Beliveau ties the game midway through the first period and then scores a pair of power-play goals in the second.<\/p>\n<p>His only post-season hat trick comes three years to the day after getting 100th playoff point. The Hall of Famer would help the Habs take series in five games. Montreal would add another Stanley Cup crown after sweeping the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/blues\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">St. Louis Blues<\/a> in the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Other Notable Events<\/h3>\n<p><strong>1950: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/r\/raleido01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Don Raleigh<\/a><\/strong> is the first player to score back-to-back overtime winners in the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/rangers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Rangers<\/a> forward gets the game-winner in a 2-1 OT win over the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/red-wings\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Detroit Red Wings<\/a>. Raleigh netted the OT winner two nights earlier in Game 3.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1958:<\/strong> Montreal gets its third championship in a row as it beat the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/bruins\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Boston Bruins<\/a>, 5-3, in Game 6.<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/g\/geoffbe01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bernie Geoffrion<\/a><\/strong> scores twice for the Habs in the clincher.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1975: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/r\/reschgl01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Glenn Resch<\/a><\/strong> makes 27 saves as the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/islanders\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Islanders<\/a> start their shocking comeback in Game 4 of the quarterfinals. &#8220;Chico&#8221; helps the Isles rally from losing the first three games to shock the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/penguins\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pittsburgh Penguins<\/a> in seven.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1992: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/g\/gretzwa01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wayne Gretzky<\/a><\/strong> is the first NHLer to 300 playoff points as he gets four assists.
