He logged 10:01 minutes of average ice time, with 2 penalty minutes and 53.9% in faceoff wins. In the AHL, he has played 47 games, notching 16 goals, 29 points and 27 PIM with the Tucson Roadrunners.

The Ile Bizard, QC native has epitomized the journeyman tag since being selected 89th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers, in the third round of the 2010 NHL Draft. He signed his entry-level contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2013. Since then has played in the NHL with the Vancouver Canucks, the Montreal Canadiens and the Arizona Coyotes. Overall, he has registered six goals, 22 points, 78 PIM and won 51.6% of his faceoffs in 169 NHL games.

Chaput was acquired by Arizona back in 2019 in exchange for Jordan Weal, who was sent to the Montral Canadiens in a straight center swap trade. Weal has gone on to play on a regular basis for the Canadiens fourth line, with 15 points in 49 games in 2019-20 season.

Meanwhile, Chaput has been a solid asset in the minor leagues. Across his AHL career, he has 109-150-259 with 286 penalty minutes in 388 games. His strong faceoff success and shooting percentage (18% this season) has provided Chayka, worthy evidence to resign him.

Focus still on Taylor Hall

This is the third piece of business for the Coyotes since the season’s pause.
