Here\u2019s our look at this date in hockey history for March 29th, featuring <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/c\/clarkbo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bobby Clarke<\/a>.<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Today in Hockey History<\/h2>\n<h3>Bobby Clarke First to Get 100 Points for Expansion Team<\/h3>\n<p><strong>1973:<\/strong> The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/flyers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Philadelphia Flyers<\/a> forward scores in a 4-2 victory over the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/flames\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Atlanta Flames<\/a> at the Spectrum. Clarke becomes the first player from an expansion team to get 100 points in a season.<\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;d finish with 104 points on 37 goals and 67 assists for the season. Clarke would win the Hart Trophy for league MVP and the Flyers would reach the Stanley Cup semifinals.<\/p>\n<h3>Other Notable Events<\/h3>\n<p><strong>1970: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/e\/esposto01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tony Esposito<\/a><\/strong> sets a record for most shutouts for a rookie goalie with 15. The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/blackhawks\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chicago Blackhawks<\/a> blanked the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/maple-leafs\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a>, 4-0. He would win the Vezina and Calder Trophies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1975:<\/strong> The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/canadiens\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Montreal Canadiens<\/a> become the first team to win 1,000 home games with a 4-1 win over the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/devils\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kansas City Scouts<\/a>. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/l\/laflegu01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Guy Lafleur<\/a><\/strong> also scores his 50th goal for the sixth straight season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1981: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/g\/gretzwa01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wayne Gretzky<\/a><\/strong> breaks <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/e\/esposph01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Phil Esposito<\/a>&#8216;<\/strong>s record for most points in a season by getting three assists for the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/oilers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Edmonton Oilers<\/a>. Gretzky notched three assists in the 5-2 win over the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/penguins\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pittsburgh Penguins.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;d score his 894th and final professional goal as the<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/rangers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> New York Rangers<\/a> beat the<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/islanders\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> New York Islanders<\/a>, 3-1.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1989: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/l\/leetcbr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brian Leetch<\/a><\/strong> of the Rangers sets the rookie record for goals by a defenceman in the Blueshirts 4-3 loss to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/red-wings\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Detroit Red Wings<\/a>. The Avs would beat the Oilers, 3-2.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2018: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/f\/fostesc01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Scott Foster<\/a>,<\/strong> a 36-year-old accountant, makes seven saves as the Blackhawks beat the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/jets\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Winnipeg Jets,<\/a> 6-1.
