Here\u2019s our look at this date in hockey history for March 26th, featuring <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/e\/esposto01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tony Esposito<\/a>.<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Today in Hockey History<\/h2>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/e\/esposto01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tony Esposito<\/a> Wins 30 Games for Eighth Time<\/h3>\n<p><strong>1980:<\/strong> The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/blackhawks\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chicago Blackhawks<\/a> goalie helps them beat the<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/avalanche\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Quebec Nordiques<\/a>, 7-2, at Le Colisee. It&#8217;s the eighth time that Esposito has won at least 30 games in a season, which is a league record.<\/p>\n<p>It comes 10 years after he get his 14th shutout in a season after blanking the<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/red-wings\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Detroit Red Wings<\/a>, 1-0. Esposito broke <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/l\/lumleha01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Harry Lumley<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s modern record from 16 years prior.<\/p>\n<h3>Other Notable Events<\/h3>\n<p><strong>1919:<\/strong> The<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/canadiens\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Montreal Canadiens<\/a> and the Seattle Metropolitans play to a scoreless tie after 80 minutes of hockey in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final.
